To be fair I would say £5m is about right...English, faily good cross on him, reasonable defensive qualities, experience in European competition. To think that we sold Fryers for £3m in the summer, £5m for Naughton sounds fair.

Yep £5mil is more than fair. Naughton is a good experienced player. They can jog on if they think that's too expensive.

I feel like 5m is a fair asking price for a 24 year old that can give you solid performances on a Premier-league level at the rightback position.

Totally agree with all above.

Easily worth £5m, which also happens the be the price we paid for him in 2009 when he had no PL experience.

Having improved significantly and now coming into his peak years, he's at least worth the same!

Surprised to see the fee is being questioned by the Mirror, probably agent work.

If Swansea want to play games, I'd happily keep him until the summer as cover.

Allow Yedlin to bed at his own pace.

With Yedlin coming in, Walker back and both Dier and Chiriches able to cover in emergencies, I see this is a good move. The £5m could persuade a club to part with one of their players leaving on a free. Delph, Schar and Ings are good ones to keep an eye on.

Probably best for both parties to see him moved on now and 5 million sounds like a fair enough offer for him.

£5m is too much because of the situation of the selling club (us). Having a large squad, only 25 to register, and having bought in a new right-back, is inevitably going to reduce the cash value of your existing unwanted right-back.

Will it be the same old story this window of Levy squeezing every penny and winding up with unwanted players still on the books or will he loosen up a little?

I think those things are what keep the price reasonable for an English player with three and half years of Prem experience, that also isn't old.

Straight swap for Bony?
this is something Levy'd like. Maybe he should consider throwing in Ade as part of the deal. WIN WIN for us! Kyle Naughton has always seemed to give 100% for us. Something often over looked in the present with others being better in his RB position. He never moaned about being played LB when it's not his strongest position. He just got on with it and did his best. If he moves on best wishes. If he stays keep plugging away and helping the mighty Spurs

I don't mind him and part of me thinks that given the right team and management could become a good right back. But we have enough options in that position and I really hope we sell him so we can start looking at strengthening other positions.

Some times when I see 'fans' throwing all sorts of abuse at a player who, by all observations, seems like a nice lad with a good head on his shoulders and has made it to pretty much the top echelons of football, I think they're better off leaving.

Not because I want them to leave, but because they deserve better. He'll hopefully find himself a club where he won't be vilified so unjustifiably. He's been such a scapegoat whilst being as consistent as anyone else in the team last season if you ask me.

Good luck Kyle

It's twitter. It's shit like that why I've never signed up for that tripe. People use it as a contest to be a disgusting as possible, and these high profile names have it as a medium to make themselves subject to it. Hate what social media has done to our world tbh.

Anyway, good luck to the kid. I think it's a fair price and excellent for all parties if this deal goes through.
