Bit gutted tbh, but if Poch is allowing him to leave so be it, suprised we have let him go to a rival.

Because our manager obviously doesn't think selling Walker will weaken us as much as you seem to think so.

I don't think they'd be daft enough to spend that much on him!Hoped we could have found a club outside the prem.

If it has strengthened them.True but would rather have took less than strengthen City.
Our manager also thought signing sissoko would strengthen us.
A very valid point, and although not much needs doing, that doesn't mean we can afford to fart around and have a timid and weak window. Players do want to see a degree of ambition. It's disappointing that he's going to a rival, but we do need to accept that there's not much else we can do in the situation.
Walker knew he could probably more than double his wages at City. If we'd matched that offer for him, we'd then have ultimately had to do the same thing for every player.
So assuming that's not an option, if Kyle wants to chase the money (as is his right) we simply need to get as much money for him as possible. We're not a rich enough club (yet) where we can just leave a £50m asset to sit on the bench whilst we wait for an appropriate buyer, and I think if the £55m figure is accurate we'll have got over market value for him.
We've got a ready made replacement, and lots of cash to buy another right back if we want one, so overall I don't think it'll hurt us too much.
The problem will be if this triggers other departures, but there's no reason to assume that will happen at the moment.
If it has strengthened them.
They released every full-back they had except Kolarov, how could Walker not strengthen them? No competition. If it has strengthened them.
He was the League's best right back playing for Spurs under Poch. In the words of the Fresh Prince, his life just got 'flipped turned upside down'. If he's still the League's best right back this time next year I'll be prepared to say I'm wrong, not a problem. They just got rid of all their RB's (who were shit) and just signed the leagues best RB. I think it's safe to say we've strengthened them. Not only strengthened tj but probably given them their ideal player in that he doesn't need any bedding in time to get used to the league. We couldn't even stall it till deadline day and let him have a full pre season.
You could be right, there's always a chance he might find Peps tactics hard to deal with or might just struggle in general but I'd say that's quite a small chance.
