He's going through a bad patch. Yesterday he was particularly bad.

The pass across the box for their 2nd goal, you're taught about this when you 8years old not to do it! He actually did the same pass in the 1st half if anyone saw it.. not sure where he's picked that up from ha.

I do worry about his intelligence, I mean he's pretty dense lets be honest :D. I hope he gets back to his form from last season!

The Devil's Advocate in me would suggest that others get away with similar gaffs without it end up being punished by a goal. Saying that I thought both full backs made silly mistakes yesterday.

On a different day, Walker's pass is booted into the stands by Lloris or Downing's resulting shot is blocked by Vertonghen.

Benny's penalty was silly too; and technically more costly.

Recently Walker has been much more like his old self - but simply by being young, he is more susceptible to having concentration issues. He has so much raw talent - anyone suggesting "get rid" is a ridiculous person. Ridiculous.

I do blame Walker and genuinely believe he would be a league 1 player if he had no pace. He's poor positionally and gives away stupid free kicks too but in time I think he'll come good with a bit of coaching. Benny should have known not to breathe on Suarez either, although credit where its due, it really was a great pass from Defoe.

I also blame the fact that a 50 yard backpass is something that gets applause thesedays, but obviously not as much as a headed backpass. Thats the holy grail.

He's a defender. He wont start being consistently good untill he hits 25/6 at least. I think hes developing quite nicely and learning his trade while offering a great offensive dimension and can mostly compensate for his occasional positional lapses with his great pace. He had a brain fart yesterday. Anyone here not screwed up at work while learning your trade?

Making those mistakes when you are supposed to be an experienced defender is less forgivable. Benny is starting to worry me. He just doesn't seem to get what the team is trying to do going eithrr forwards or backwards. Tallented guy but he just isn't linking well.

We have to accept that as a young player, he is going to make mistakes. The key thing is how he learns from those mistakes and improves. I very much doubt that Walker will attempt a back pass like that again.

Bale makes mistakes (missing sitters for example), but we dont notice them as much as they rarely cost us a goal and he makes up for it by scoring goals. Kyle has saved us a few times with his pace this season, making crucial blocks. Let's get behind him and the team for the remaining games.

Pedantic knee jerking idiot. That's the definition of anyone giving Walker stick. He made a mistake, he's young. Everyone makes mistakes. Sigurdsson made a mistake twice by not scoring today. No one's blaming him as his mistake was further up the field. Yes defenders and keepers are judged purely on the mistakes, but it's harsh to give Walker stick for today as he's been immense of late.

And those saying he's good going forward but poor defensively, I'd say it's the opposite if anything. He's a very good defender, just young and in need of learning from a few mistakes. His errors are bad passes and stupid long balls, not getting skiined or being caught out of position. Going forward he's useful too, but maybe a little wasteful from time to time.

To those knocking him, who would you sign to replace him that's better then?

When does knee jerking cease to be knee jerking and become valid critism then? a year, ten years? Was Gary Doherty crap, or is that just knee jerking too?

I've yet to see anyone really explain what quality attributes Walker has, without refering to his age or his speed.

For me, he's neither good defensively or offensively.

He has poor positional play, ball watches, constantly gets caught wrong side, gives away needless free kicks.

Going forward he just runs with the ball incredibly fast and then has no bloody idea what he's going to do when he gets there. He might hit one or two decent crosses but 90% of them come close to knocking Jamie Redknapp out in the studio.

In general play his passing is poor and he has zero football intelligence. But he can run fast, so he must be good, right?

All these things were there last season as well, its just his raw pace caused the oppostions problems and a player who is quick is labelled "exciting" when they burst on to the scene and other attributes of their game are ignored.

I can't fault his attitude, he never hides and always puts in 100% but for me he's not good enough and i don't see as much potential as others do.

He's picked his game up recently. He's still going through that difficult 2nd album stage though. We'll only know which way he's going to go next season. If he bounces back and learns the lessons of this season, we'll have ourselves a beauty. If not, well, AVB has Naughton/Kabs who are more than servicable and will likely look for a replacement in the TW after.

Still a relatively young player - for a defender especially. It's all about how he progresses. Could go either way for me tbh. Hope he can push on though and uses these lows, compared to last season's highs, as motivation to improve.

Think he will be OK.

What was Benny so miserable about at the beginning, did not join in the team huddle looked totally pissed off...?

No idea. Noticed that as well. Benny was his usual self for me. That's not a criticism, just an acceptance that he's not like the average footballer. No idea what's going on with him mood wise. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Does what he always does.
He was in the huddle but he doesn't bond with the others by bending down.
Making some point or other, I suppose.
Shows disrespect as far as I'm concerned.
He's a character off the field but an accident waiting to happen on it.

You're onto a loser with this one mate... there's no defending what he did. And it's by no means his first blunder. And you don't have to offer an 'alternative' just because you choose to point these things out and comment on them.

If I were you I'd just delete your original post altogether.
Who asked for your advice?

Yeah I agree. I was watching durig the Inter warm up and he really couldn't be bothered. So much in fact that he just walked away from one drill and joined another. He's just a bit of an enigma I suppose.

Why do I have to pick a replacement? I never said I want to replace him. I'm just pointing out what I'm seeing from him.

As for rating my reply as Spam. Really?
Yes it is Spam. Saying Kyle made a mistake yesterday is fair enough. Suggesting he's frequent in mistakes is ludicrous. People forget what we had prior to him: Stalteri, Pamarot, Chimbonda, Corluka. Some people need to get their heads out of their arses and realise where we've come as a Club and stop moaning like little bitches every time something goes wrong. LAst time we shot ourselves in the foot we went on this 12 match run. I'm sure we'll pull of something similar again this time.

IMO - better defender than Walker, Ill even go as far to say if Charlie had Walker's pace, he would have been one of the best RB's in the Prem.

That's not a knock at Kyle btw, just dont think its fair to put Corluka in the same category as Stalteri/Pamarot

hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Just made me laugh. All about one's own perspective I guess. You've just listed 3 of the 5 best RBs we've had since I started watching Spurs. (Walker and Carr the others)

All of them a country mile better than the likes of Taricco. Even Salty.

Possibly. But if he didn't have Lennon and that understanding with him in front of him he'd be rated a lot lower than he was. He was slower than a Carnival parade and was like Berbatov at right back in his lacklustre style, which is not what you want from a defender up against wingers.

Yeah. Even Salty for one season. Obviously he was hardly great. Barely good in fact. I'll never foget the utter gash that used to drain money from this club though. Like I said, all about perspective.
