If he goes it’s the final nail in the coffin for football as we know it. A small handful of teams will be driven by petro dollars and the rest will be nowhere. Sky or BT will do a deal for the TV rights in Saudi and you will see kids in your local park wearing the shirts of “teams” they know nothing about.
That will never happen. They can buy the players but they can't buy the history of the clubs. Let's call them elite players. They can all go play in Saudi where no one cares and this will just provide more opportunities for home grown talent.

For example, as much as I like Kane...

I want Tottenham to win and not Kane!

No one cares currently, no, but when they are admitted to the Champions League/fund a new Superleague in two or three years they will get a lot more attention. Nobody really thinks their end goal is winning Saudi domestic league titles do they?

I just wonder whether the Saudis will decide to focus their resources on clubs in their own country and not invest as much as at one time contemplated into Newcastle.

If this were to happen the schadenfraude would be delicious.

Where there’s money and prestige, the Saudis will be there.

I would be very interested to find out if there are any similarities between the ownership of Al Hilal and PSG. If there are, I'm sure someone will eventually point this out.

They've been doing that with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man United, and Liverpool shirts for years with a recent trend towards PSG shirts, so this will be another leap of lazy bandwagon jumping....

My first reaction to this was that it’s obviously ridiculous and quite possibly fake news, but after having watched a highlights video entitled “Mbappe - Welcome to Tottenham” featuring atrocious techno muzak, I am now convinced that this is the signing that will make or break our window. Get it done, Daniel!

Telegraph report that Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham to be part of a bidding frenzy for Kylian Mbappe.
Honestly that's what it says in the BBC roundup 🤣🤣🤣

I think they’ve got more than enough money to go around but yes it would be amusing.

I think for us the only interest if there is any at all would be the loan option and paying what we would have paid Kane in wages on a new contract for the season. Still wouldn't be enough and he obviously wouldn't come here but that's the only way from our perspective.

Only we can make this happen. We were given a Messi thread two years ago and only got it to 40 pages and missed out to PSG. Everyone knows we need the magic 100 pages before Levy signs off on a deal. Let's get this done. #Ibelieve

The Telegraph reporting can’t be true. Why in the world would we even want him? Just a cancer in Ange’s locker room, the opposite of what we’re trying to build.
