American businessman Todd Boehly has identified Tottenham or Chelsea for a possible bid.

Boehly, 46, who owns a 20 per cent stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, is backed by his private investment firm Eldridge Industries, which controls shares in a wide array of businesses from real estate, insurance and sport.

No, nay ,never Todd. This would end up being like Yanited , where they foist a pile of debt onto our balance sheet against future earnings? Or worse, they behave like Kronke just using us as a revenue source.

So many Yanks have been poor owners in Prem, look at Sunderland, Villa, Yanited , Goons......... anyone who talks about "soccer" and "franchises" can simply F++K RIGHT OFF in my book.

I was making the same argument about how bad American owners are, but the Liverpool guy does seem to actually be doing well so far. If Enic do eventually sell, I would always want an English Spurs fan owner ideally...

Kinda cuts down the list of potential investors. How about only a Spurs fan with endless amounts of cash to invest? Might have to be the devil we know after all.

Don't like these American sports tycoons. You only have to look at the way Kroenke is screwing Arsenal in favour of his stateside interests to have a pretty good idea how it will pan out.

Kronke isn't investing in his US sports teams (Avalanche, Nuggets, Rapids) with the exception of the Rams, so to suggest that he's spending money on any of them at the cost to Woolwich is simply not true. Secondly he and his wife have a 2016 reported nett worth of around 80 billion, so he's hardly strapped for cash if he wanted to.

True :)
They've done well with Boston Red Sox too. LA Dodgers haven't won the "World Series" (always makes me chuckle that one!) since 1988...... although I appreciate Todd and co haven't owned LAD for that long..... I'm just always sceptical of U.S. owners!

Yeah, but the current ones work.

I think the point is they are the exception rather than the rule.

Villa, Sunderland, United, Arsenal, Swansea, Liverpool, all clubs that have had or have terrible owners from the states. Fenway are the only positive ones I can think of.

So my point is, there can be exceptions.

IF he would keep DL on as the chairman, then I'll be up for this. Assuming Daniel would work with TB.
