We have more then enough games coming up in a very short space of time, im sure everyone will play at some point. With a high press you need your players being as close to full fitness as possible.

As for critiquing him after todays cameo, thats just laughable. He had an off day, so to has every other single player in our squad at some point this season. Some more then one... or two or three. He is young and still finding his feet. Honestly, get the fuck over it, cant people give the poor kid a brake.

Agree. It's about getting the balance right. Unfortunately, that might mean Lamela spending some time on the bench as he's not a RW or RWF for me in the PL.

If he plays it has to be in the middle imo.

I would even consider playing him as a left winger.

After two games where Lamela was arguably the strongest player overall...

Why as Fans can we just not support our players...

Just because Lennon was good today, why do we have to equate that as Lamela being shit.

He obviously fucking isn't.

Why can't we say Lamela is a very good footballer with a huge potential, but Lennon took his opportunity and performed well today..? Why is that so hard..?
As soon as Lennon came off and Lamela came on we spent 30 minutes defending.. go figure...

It isn't laughable mate he's had too many off days and his silly fouls and messed up chances on the break nearly cost us 3 points today.

He's not a pussy FFS. Yes, he was awful today but his willingness to go into tackles, even if they're shit, shows that he's not a pussy.
Anyone can go into tackles but even when he fouls people he doesn't do it properly he is a little kid sticking his toe in the water once he becomes a man maybe we'll see a decent player a la Bale transformation once he put on some size.

At £30m he should be doing so much more. I'd honestly cash in and either promote youth or look to Mitchell and co to pick up something special. Don't think we can afford to carry the likes of Lamela. Can shine, but more often than not fails.

I'm getting really fed up of people using his transfer fee to justify his performance.

He's got into plenty of fights/arguments on the pitch this season. I'm pretty sure a pussy doesn't do that.

In the system we played today I think he would be rather suited to be one of the front two. Not disciplined enough to play a RM with mainly defensive duties.

I agree - I have often wondered if he could develop into a Messi type striker

He's got goals in him and is a good finisher in my opinion. Also he has the work rate to close down from the front like Augero

I think he needs to build up his strength as he's a little lightweight right now but I wouldn't be surprised if he could develop into a top striker (I've always felt his best position would be a number 10 anyway)

WHY?! Football is unfortunately these days a business as well as a sport and we have a '£30million' 'asset' here who is performing no-where near that! He's not scored a goal in the PL and probably shouldn't be starting in our first XI, certainly not in a 4-4-2.

He has some ability that is clear but has a LONG way to go and it is hurting us having to carry him, we've given him about 15-20 games now this season and aside from Away to Sunderland and home to QPR back when my nan could've scored against them they were so bad, he has been very inconsistent.

I would say give him until the end of the season and if no real improvement bite our tounges and cut our losses.

The price tag is not his fault per say however that is what we paid so that is what we expect to get, if we had paid £5-7million and he was playing like he is now I would still be unimpressed!

£30million!!! do you know how many world class wingers that could buy jesus wake up mate!

Off the pace today but who cares? We won and he's been bright in other games recently - Hull and the game on Thursday etc.

Why is there such a rush to judge him? He's talented and we just need to be patient. This is like his first real season anyway.

I do believe he'll be better in the number ten position though. I'd like to see us rotate over the festive period and try him in there from time to time.

He carried us on Thursday- or does it not count because it's the Europa League?

Do you really think he was that good on Thursday?

He made a decent effort in the last minute that he nearly curled in otherwise really nothing special against a very ordinary side we should be spanking.

He's put in a few good cup performances because the level is lower, for a £30million signing I would expect him to be fucking tearing them a new one. Stop being so nice, yea support him but be realistic, he is not good enough and no-where near justifying his value.
