Or cash in and gets someone who does, which I think was what Tim had in mind when he made his comment about some players not being his cup of tea. Not bad players, but not a fit for the system which he would like to play, which based on the teams he has put out at youth level, is rather similar to AVB's preferred 4-3-3 (the reason Sherwood supposedly recommended him), but moving the ball faster.

Which does make you wonder why we have been signing players who are not what we need. Lack of control over signings by the manager? Inadequate scouting?
We needed these players, they are upgrades on other squad members.
Try giving them some time and patience.
Otherwise we will be signing other players, deeming them not good enough and the merry go round carries on and on.
We have seen enough instances over the last few years were players turn up, need adapting, we call them shit, but low and behold the are actually pretty good after we show some patience.
Names supplied if you cant think of any.

Levy/Baldini buying a guy who obviously didn't want to leave Roma
fucktard AVb not playing him properly
injuries
and then bloody Tim happens

anything else shit about our season can put down to almost the same four things plus A&C's rather curious obsession with dildos..

Baldini certainly has a lot to answer for. The media like bang on about 'Levy letting AVB spend £100 million' but it's bollocks.

Baldini was clearly the man who identified these players and they simply haven't been good enough, it was an awful use of the money.

If I was Franco I'd be very concerned for my job right now, and rightly so.

Apart from that fact you are judging the players too early you need to remember that Baldini didn't actually sign/identify every new signing.

Paulinho was signed before Baldini was appointed. By all accounts we had been tracking Eriksen and Soldado for a number of seasons. Chadli was an opportunist signing as he was coming to the end of his contract.

The only signings Baldini seemed to identify were Chiriches and Lamela. The former showed alot of promised before injury and the latter hasn't had enough opportunities to really make a proper assessment on.

It's not just Paulinho there are a lot of players that are playing in the wrong system. In fact since AVB left, I'm not sure we have has a system.

They players we have bought are the correct players to play a 4-3-3 with quick passing and good movement (except Dembelle) IMO. We just haven't had a manager play it. AVB didn't/wouldn't/couldn't get quick passing or any movement in his team and TS seems to change everything every game with no continuity in our play at all.

Reminds me of Mr Garrison's bike form southpark, Levy really did bring us the cutting edge technology of the future...

Was thinking about Lamela last night, such is my want.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Levy had structured the payments for him that included some sort of first season appearance clause, that had he played more than x games, we would have paid more to Roma this year rather than over the course of the next few years. It's highly possible that we felt it wasn't worth shelling out another say 5m this season given the little impact he seemed to be making and the work he needed on his physique. I also very much doubt we shelled out anywhere near 30m upfront.

Guaranteed to be put back into the fold this weekend. Nice way of gently easing him back into the fold just like his first start at man city away. It's only natural.

I'm sure Tim will say he is "still out" or "making very slow progress" in his pre match presser. It's probably the most we will get this week.
