By character traits, body language, self confidence (or lack of), you don't need to be a doctor to know this, you can tell if someone has a weak character just by their body language, you could even tell in the interview he had he came across as a shy person, there's nothing wrong with that it's part of his build.

Being mentally weak isn't some sort of condition, he's expected to have a weak personality based on his
characteristics, I still maintain he has time to turn it around as he's a young boy he has plenty of time on his side.

And you're qualified to make those decisions, absolutely, how?

I mean, I can analyse body language, I interview people for a living, face to face, talk to them directly, and I am by no means an expert. You must be though, you've also had so much one two one contact with him so he must be mentally weak.

He might well be but I wouldn't profess to be able to tell from what I have seen. I agree with you on the point that he's young and he can change.. Surely people who are mentally weak at a young age are more likely to stay that way as they don't have the mental determination to change?

Since when is being shy a sign of mental weakness?

I'm not qualified to make those decisions, if you can't tell if someone has a weak character then that says more about you. I didn't say that makes me an expert you did. You're dressing this up as if it needs some sort of scientific research when it's just a natural observation.

You know players like Bale and Ronaldo were known to have weak characteristics when they first started to play football yet they both toughened up physically and mentally are you saying that you don't think Lamela would do the same? Hardly an outlandish statement to make is it?

It is an outlandish comment because it's based on nothing. As you said, you're not an expert so you'll forgive me if I don't put any weight into your observation of him

It's based on observations and even given you 2 previous examples who were said to be weak characters yet they toughened up, now forgive me if I don't put any weight into your observation ;) seeing as you haven't really backed up your claims to the contrary :p

My observation is that I don't know. You citing Bale and Ronaldo or whoever proves nothing whatsoever I'm afraid. I don't think Bale was ever mentally weak, physically he needed toughening up a bit but that's totally seperate

TS on the BS Telegraph story:

"There's no chance Erik's fit," he said. "Someone told me there was something in the paper saying the hierarchy are asking him to play but chance would be a fine thing. He's got to be fit. He won't play again this season."

I've assessed the rest of the squad and, on Erik, the jury's still out for me.

Lamela has been described as one of the biggest transfer flops ever in Premier League history but the Tottenham manager feels that is a harsh assessment in the circumstances.

"I think it's unfair because he's not been fit and it's been hard to judge," Sherwood said. "The price tag isn't his fault. It's not Erik who sets the price.

"I've never seen enough of him. He's been fit for about three weeks. He's still an unknown quantity.

"I've assessed the rest of the squad and, on Erik, the jury's still out for me. He's been very unfortunate. He'll be settled in the area, so he'll improve on that, but in terms of settling in the Premier League, the jury has to still be out."

What are you disputing? That Bale was never mentally weak? If so, what do you base that on? Harry Redknaap quotes?

I already acknowledged, and agreed with your view that players mentality can change. What I dispute is your current so called observation on Lamela current mental strength.

Do you think a mentally weak 19yr old would have been able to captain River plate when they were in the trouble like they were?

Totally contradicts himself there?

So is he fit or not?

Fantastic supporting quotes from Dimmy there.

The man really is a tosser.

Can't wait for him to get out of my club. How people still support this chump is beyond me.

The jury isn't still out on Lamela, anyone with a footballing brain knows he has the potential to be one of our top players. However, I can confirm the jury isn't still out on you... We've already decided on the fact you're guilty of being a fucking incompetent manager.

The Telegraph said he's meant to be returning to full training with the senior team next week. Timmy seems to disagree.

TS ain't done nothing wrong IMO. Controversial I know

I think it comes down to people not being able to accept negativity about the club, as it detracts from their love of 'perfect spurs'. Its head in the sand tactics. Looking for the good in things is easier than admitting fault.

Hardly supporting words are they though?

Considering he's one of our own players.

He might of well said 'I think he's shit'.

Everyone has the potential to be the best until their career ends and they failed.

Even Lennon could have a blinder For 5 years and be remembered a legend.

I guess what I'm saying is potential is meaningless.
