La la la lamela to the tune of Lola by the kinks.

I came up with this last year but it never took off, I wonder why.
Hopefully we might actually have a reason to sing his name this year

Long overdue. [lyrics not mine]

I met him in a pub next to white hart lane
So I walked up to him and asked him his name
He said Lamela
La la la Lamela
I wished him the best & said please don't fail
And he said 'chill, I got this' and 'f*ck Gareth Bale
I'm Lamela'
La la la Lamela.

I think he's much better as a CAM, not a RW.

That's where he started at River Plate, and he seems to be able to do much more damage there, because at RW he ofter simply cuts inside and passes backwards/sideways.

As CAM, however, he can be direct and take players on either side, looking to create chances, and roaming around looking for space.

He's such a talented player, I think he's wasted out wide tbh.

his last season in Roma he started to do that and take over a bit of the Totti responsibility. In truth I thought Roma would never sell him based on the fact he would've helped replace Totti so well

I stand corrected.

It's pre-season. It wasn't really a criticism; Eriksen also lost possession a few times. I'm just saying if you took the 2 goals out it wouldn't have been a great performance. Of course goals are quite important ...

Yes it might sound ridiculous but I agree, he still seemed a bit clumsy and holding the ball a few seconds too long without purpose, but he will only get better.
I expect a lot more from him.

I like it but I think he has to get a different hairstyle first or else the song is too fitting. :p

Or maybe the 'Banana Splits theme song'. You hardly even have to change the words :headphone:.

But in terms of potential, he's one of the best there is. If he stays injury free then he will be amazing this season. He just needed to be fit and in 'Premier League shape', and a little confidence.
Also needed a manager who wasn't a clueless idiot, which I think he's got now.

I think the plan will be to let the 3 players behind the striker continuously swap positions. Lamela started in the centre but there were times where he would be on the right and Eriksen central. Lennon even played central in parts and Eriksen shifted left.

I think they will all have specific jobs to do ie Lennon - Stretching the defenders, Eriksen - Picking out runs and Lamela - Supporting the striker. I just think that they will have the freedom to roam and find the best positions to carry the job out rather than be stuck in a rigid position on the field.

We simply made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Nice to see Bobby hanging out with the kids, from the social media this Summer and the preseason it seems he hasn't been fazed by last season I really hope we see the best of him. Would love it if he could silence his doubters.

This is the key. Lamela's real strengths are his passing, vision and movement. On the wing he us far too restricted and easy to mark which works against all of those strengths.

I'm really excited to see how he develops this year, I think he is going to be fantastic for us.

Great bit of skill at the 40 second mark..

I think we might have the 2 best young number 10's in the Premiership in Lamela and Eriksen but if Eriksen is played in the Lallana role (starting from the left) I could see him being even more effective than his English counterpart. I'd love to see Lamela get this freedom to roam all season long, as long as Poch builds the defence up behind them we're going to win plenty of games.

This is why pre-season is good for players like Lamela, Eriksen & Soldado. Something which they didn't have together at spurs last season.

This trip gives them a chance to relax and bond together.
