He was our best defensive player today, and our best offensive player! And he still has more in him!

Buzzing right now...!

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Was great today, faded a little in the second but the first half showed what potential he has.

He is so elegant on the ball, i think once he gets over the phase he is in the moment with trying a little bit too much (which is understandable after last season) and relaxes a little bit more this guy will be unplayable against a lot of teams.

Ha. Fair play. Don't think he was quite as good today as some people are saying, but showed far more promise.

There was a moment where the twitter updates said he mugged off joey Barton. Any chance of a video of this? Especially after his comments last season

Numerous times in this thread I've raved about him and how I know he's going to get to the levels we expect. Brilliant today, work rate and ability. Love him. He does under cook his passing at times but that's something that will easily become better over the season. Kid has only just turned 22 and coming off a nasty injury....future is bright! So happy for the boy.

So was this really his first league start at whl? If so there's no way anyone can say he wasn't managed badly last season.

Lamela was the nuts today. Excited for his future with us!
So is RM

I actually hope that things go so well here, that we are enjoying CL football in the new stadium, and Lamela chooses to stay here rather than run off to Madrid.

I have a feeling he might stay longer than Erisken, due to Pochettino.

interesting video.

Interesting that (although I realise he is still very young then) he said he would prefer to play in Spain when he is older.

Really can't underestimate the importance of him now having an Argentinian manager IMO.
