At least we know what we are now. An English national investment company. The football club is secondary. What a disgrace.

Don't really like it but also understand the reason, football is just a business now and like a business screw the little people and the fat cats get richer.
will be the start to a new league competition not just a cup competition.

Why is everyone super in support of some of the most corrupt institutions in the world?
Like fifa just got done by the FBI, the uefa president was just found guilty of corruption (platini) and we are hosting a tournament that has killed more slaves than the pharaohs solely for money.
I mean.... do we really want these institutions dominating football with no competition allowed ever?
They're literally killing slaves by the thousands and yet we call anyone who troubles their power "treasonous"?
Like fucking really? Treasonous? You cant support a governing body.
The PR machines of FIFA, UEFA, and the PL are second to none. Especially with rupert murdochs skysports backing them all the way.
"Weve been found guilty of corruption and murdered thousands of slaves within the last 4 years. But dont look at those guys setting up their competition, they're the REALLY corrupt ones!"

The problem is that so many clubs are now owned by people who know nothing about football. Its just another part of their investment portfolio. By any footballing measure, there is no way Spurs should qualify to be in a 'super league' while the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester City, Porto, Ajax etc do not.

It used to be about glory, now it’s just glorious profits. Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy have shown their true colours.

There used to be a football club here.

seems it’s following the USA’s league which I never really liked. I wonder if they’ll also have roll on roll off subs. How would we realistically be able to play our best players in both competitions. What happens with the other cups. Disappointing and as usual all about greed.

Im at the point I want to create my own super society where we all support each other and the wealth gap is closed up rather than expanded. This society only cares about money, not happiness, not other people.

No one worships at alter of FIFA (even though this is UEFA). I think on the whole most people would be happy to see their power removed, but this breakaway can't possibly be seen as the fight against all that is wrong and immoral in football. Its closed nature spits in the face of the integrity of sport and in the fair and open nature of competition. Yes you could argue that's already the case with the elite teams in the champions league but this puts many more nails in the coffin. It's purely about greed. Furthermore, there's simply no appetite for a European league where the same teams play each other every week without jeopardy, but they don't care about fans. That's the objection. This super league feels like stale pond.

No one is the side of any organisation. They are taking the side of football supporters and clubs. And of the general principle of 'sport'

Couldn't give less of a fuck about FIFA, or the PL.

This is a despicable act of greed and corruption of the principles of sport and competition.

On every previous occasion that FIFA/UEFA/FA has been threatened with breakaways, the sabre-rattling ended pretty quickly and a compromise was reached. I have every expectation that this will turn out to be more of the same, with the big clubs settling for a compromise position but getting to hold on to more of the TV income.

Anti-Super League =/= pro FIFA/UEFA/PL

There are plenty of issues in football, but shifting to management of continental competition by a cohort of clubs that have only their own interests at heart only adds to these issues.

Forget about the governing bodies and think about it in the context of clubs and fair competition that is based on sporting merit. The Super League is being created to benefit a tiny minority of clubs at the expense of the large majority of clubs and at the expense of merit-based competition.

The Premier League was created for financial reasons (similar to the Super League), but clubs earn qualification to the Premier League on merit. The Super League format is equivalent to 15 PL clubs being immune to relegation, while the remaining 5 battle it out to avoid relegation - even if those 5 outperform the protected 15.
