Article:
To put it simply he has arthritis in his knees. Meaning that he is in constant pain when he plays. As you probably know arthritis is incurable, so unfortunately Ledley will always have this problem.
The media have responded to this news by saying that he won't be able to play until the new year and will never be able to play a whole season for the rest of career. There's also been gossip of an early retirement coming his way or Spurs selling him because of his recent injury history.
To all Tottenham fans this would be disastrous news, Spurs are in desperate need of their captain back in defence following some major defensive problems so far this season.
In Kaboul and Dawson, Tottenham do have two decent CBs, but most importantly they are inexperienced and do not provide the leadership that Spurs are looking for, which Ledley provides.
However, it isn't all doom and gloom, as various sources have stated that Ledley could be back by the end of the month. And who knows, he might even last the rest of the season. These days its possible to play through the pain barrier of an injury with an injection, but Ledley came back too early last time so hopefully this time his knee will be at 100%, if that's even possible.
So Ledley's future remains in the balance, will he return and get Spurs out of the bottom half of the table or will he remain constantly on the sidelines for the later part of his career and see Tottenham's defensive issues remain.
