that was fucking hairy. police were hopeless. kept us in the ground for 45 min after game and didn't manage to clear Leeds' violent element at all. pathetic number of officers, no helicopters. about 8 horses all told in the direction off to the right of the ground where we got rushed, and they just stopped a certain distance from the ground and let us through, to get charged at.

then they pushed back the leeds mob who were yet to engage but left those who had managed to wade in behind the police line (they had to do this, given the small number of police it was best to keep the fight small). the side streets and car parks where people might have ducked off to get away from the charge were completely unpoliced and secluded.

the car parks were full of straggling ambush parties, and they were ripping off wingmirrors to throw. running seemed like a bad idea as it removed all doubt that you were yids, you didn't knwo where you were and could get split up. there was a lot of them who bothered to wait around given how long we were detained before getting out of the ground.

by the time we got in the car the match was a hazy memory. my group of mates all got split up. two of them had to get stuck in, and they're not into that sort of thing. but the safety of the police line and the bulk of the crowd was too far away. wouldn't got backin time. our crowd was mixed up, wasn't all lads at the front at all so someone had to bear the brunt of the rush. thinking over it now, was a cracking match.

I was there last night and it weren't nice at all. As most people have explained it was a real mess at the end. We had things thrown at us and a group of Leeds boys charging at us. A few of the Spurs boys fancied it, but the group we were with mainly weren't like that and just wanted to get home.

Unfortunately, alot of the Leeds boys ran up the hill into the car park where my car was. They cleared off but left two behind, one of which took a pretty good kicking from about 8 of our lads. Then the police eventually came and moved them on.

Adrenaline was pumping, but I'm not gonna lie and give it the biggun...I was pretty scared as I'm definately not a scrapper!!! Got home in one piece though and after a great win....Yid Army!

real mess wasn't it? why did the line of police horses stop short of some of the parking? there was no leeds in sight but why not play it safe. they would've had nothing to run at if the police had kept in front of us.

snow everywhere meant you didn't fancy running and falling too. that hill up to the car park Jack was in was fairly steep and with no colours visible on anyone you didn't know who was who. you're lucky if you didn't lose your wing mirrors in there Jack.

we (group of 4) were followed to the back of the car park by a dozen leeds and there was two lads waiting at the other end. luckily they were spurs fans by their car, otherwise we'd have run out of time before the police got up there

seems to me like another 50 cops paid for 1-2 hours overtime, could've been no bother (near the ground anyway)

The stupid thing is, if they'd have let everyone out together we'd probably have all mish mashed into eachother and got away fine, with a bit of police supervision. Keeping us back 45 minutes, then letting us out in a big crowd just made us an easy target, there was no doubt who the Spurs fans were from a Leeds point of view.

They said at half time they were keeping us back half an hour, when that turned into 45minutes you knew it was because they were waiting outside.

sounds horrendous fan-wise

i was up there in 72 - it was like the nuremberg rally - absolutely ***ing intense

we got a football ing lesson that day - which is why in particular i soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo love it we gave 'em one back last night

tremendous performance tremendous result - 6-1 would have have been about right - we caned 'em on their own manor - - fantastic

so who's the bigger club - i think we know the answer - well us spurs fans knew the answer beforehand

that's three fa cup ties in a row we've done 'em

iwas there in 82 and 99 too - we won a cup each of those seasons - let's hope we do it again

so proud of the team last night - best performance of the season for me

hull was technically better - but beating hull on their own patch is nothing like beating leeds to me

no doubt that leeds are bigger than hull - just as we are bigger than leeds

now bolton - technically tougher than leeds - but if we have a good team out - say last night's team for example - maybe king on the bench or playing - i'm confident

I was actually more relaxed than i thought i would be. Even at 2-1 and in the closing minutes. I couldn't see Leeds winning the game. Even had it gone to 2-2 i would have expected us to win. We were all over them from start to finish. Leeds were poor going forward, rarely tested Gomes. Their big centre back and keeper played well for them, but nobody else really impressed me for them. We were unlucky not to score more tbh. But i was expecting a much tougher test last night.

I think Snodgrass looked good on the ball. Only he didn't get much help in the form of running off the ball.

Snodgrass.

My mum used to call me that. I always thought it was a made up name.

I thought we won? unless you are now saying you are a leeds fan
Yer, your right, I got the result wrong - I really thought we would loose it in injury time - No my point was, the game played out pretty much like I thought, it would - Like it was the 92nd minute, we are 2-1 up and they get a free kick into our penalty box (me hiding behind the couch at this point going, oh no not again) but thankfully, we got it away this time, and to add insult to injury for Leeds, Defoe was waiting at the half way line, beat the GK and stuck it it!
But the game pretty much looked like I thought it would - all this rubbish like, we will definitely win, and we tear them up this time, and they were only lucky last time, they are only a league one side, etc, etc - I think we saw, it was another tough game, and they could have won on another day, at least taken us to extra time - fortunately we got a bit more luck this game than last (nice slice Defoe:wink:) and we got the win, not easy, but we got it!

I guess my point was it would be a lot closer than a lot of people gave Leeds credit for, and up until the 92nd minute, don't know bout you, but I for one was still not sure:shrug: that IS close:shrug:

Mate, we were entirely comfortable for the first 35 minutes and the hole 2nd half. They had a free kick, lumped it in our box and we dealt with it with ease, even creating a goal in the process.

Your emphasis is on the scoreline and not the way the match was played. We won 3-1, it should've been 5 or 7. We completely outplayed them in every sense and only a dodgy goal got them into it in any sense.

We outplayed them and won 3-1. That is not what you expected at all. You expected us to bottle it & we didn't, we didn't even come close. We dominated from start to finish (bar a 10 minute spell after our 1st).

Good point actually. He did well to keep Bale at bay in the first half, and his movement was good too. Tidy looking player. I think tiredness crept in for Leeds as the game went on though, and thats when Bale got forward more.

They've had a long season already, and they lack Premier League strength and fitness. We bossed the game from beginning to end. Bullied them off the ball, and totally outplayed them with the ball. I think we were more unlucky than lucky. We should've won by more, and their goal should not have counted.

Nope sorry, my emphases was on that uncomfortable feeling I knew I would have in my stomoch in the last 5 mins of this match - I thought we dominated the first game nearly as much! After we scored they had us on the ropes, and our bottle seemed to go again (like I thought) - yes we played well, like the first game, yes we dominated play, like the first game, but also like the first game in the 92nd minute I was still never sure we were going to go on to the next round - now if that is not to close for comfort, being worried in the 92nd minute that they might still do it, what is?? Come on kendall mate, you were there, don't tell me when you saw 4 mins go up you weren't worried, and when that free kick was coming in the area at 93 mins you weren't thinking it could happen again? Sorry but that is not a relaxed comfortable win:shrug:

We played well and deserved the win, just like the first match, but it went just like I thought it would, 92 mins gone and still very very uncomfortable feeling........., well to be hoest your right, I acctually thoght it would be 2-2 at theat point and they would snatch it! So yes, I did get the result wrong, I admit it, but to say it was a comfortable game just is not true.

if it were, my missus would not have walked out of the room disgusted with me at around 88 mins:oops:

I think the key difference is our mentalities. I saw us play them off the park and deal with whatever they could muster effectively on the whole.

You were being pessimistic from the start and that spilled over into the game. I thought we'd deal with that ball into the box in a similar manner to how we dealt with them all day. 3-1 was a flattering scoreline to Leeds and for me it was a great footballing performance where they rarely troubled us.

As I thought, Leeds couldn't get lucky twice.

Their players never got back to an onside position, Bechio was always ahead of all our outfield players, they were behind the ball when Beckford shot but they gained their position from the first ball in so same phase of play, fortunately with the benefit of doubt going Leeds way all night we still got the result.

That doesn't matter. I hate this "phase of play" crap, but I guess its the way referees are trying to describe it.

Offside is determined every time the ball is TOUCHED by a teammate. You can think of it starting a new "phase of play". Beckford was onside, then touched the ball and shot on Gomes. This starts a new "phase of play". Every other Leeds player was behind the ball and onside.

Yeah, looooads of people still outside, surprised they didn't delay ko... any idea why the traffic was so bad? Is that normal? Or was it just cos it was their first sell out in a while? Motorway blocked?

Elland Road is just horrible to get to, add the snow into the equation and its even worse! The car park we ended up in was a nightmare, cars just parking where they wanted  we blocked about 2 cars in.

When we came out a mate's dad got us into one of the banqueting suites to avoid the problems getting out the car park- half expected the wheels to be gone when we got back. Thankfully all was well, didn't realise til today that there was any trouble

hah! cars blocked in?! the car park we were in was a nightmare cause we went there to find the one mate we got separated from when our fans got rushed and pelted with bottles! he wasn't there but leeds hools were wanderin around ripping off wing mirrors and looking for spurs fans. it was up a hill out of sight of police or crowds
