In the past 20 - 25 or so years you hear people say, berbatov- legend. Gazza-legend. even Hoddle- legend. Well who would you consider the greatest of all?

for me its got to be Keano, no question at all.

you would class keano the greatest legend of all, are you serious?

yeah hes a good player but he comes no where to the standard of gazza, hoddle, jennings, mabbutt, branchflower, greaves, lineker and a load of others whose names escape me at the moment,

sorry mate but im guessing you are 12 and have never read a word of this clubs history

for me it would be either sir bill or danny blanchflower

Yeah but he left us in 87 so would still come in the 25 years of legends.

I know but much/most of his finest work was done pre-83

I really don't need a history lesson on Hodd thanks :) I followed his career in great detail, he's my fave ever Spurs player

If all depends on your definition of 'Legend'. For me, Clive Allen's 49 goal haul is stuff of Tottenham Legend but is he a Legend as this was really a stand-out season for him? With so many mediocre players of the last 25 years I'm just glad we can set aside a few for special mention.

Well said DC Boy....although I respect Hoddle I do not think him the best of that batch....but there are too many to choose from. Klinsmann included. Keano is UP there with them but, once again, it comes down to personal tastes. Keano, like Mabbut, is a dedicated Yid and, as such, we should recognise him for that (along with a few others) COYS!

I was thinking about that the other day Dougal - but for that special season, (will Ronaldo top 49 - I don't think so) plus his work as reserve coach etc - I reckon yes - Legend :)

I was just wondering if Keano would have cemented his place as a Spurs Legend with a few more if our scouts had picked up on him instead of Wolves? With the poor return as far as strikers are concerned coming through from our youth team, Keane benefitted from learning his trade at various clubs and has now signed himself up for his best years at Spurs.

Oh I wasn't trying to give a lesson, like of that era he was my favourite as well. A rare gem that doesn't come along that often. I've yet to see anyone that comes close to his talents to wear the white shirt since.

Keano, legend? - Certainly.
Keano, greatest legend of last 25 years? - Certainly not.

Ok Legend line-up for past 25 years

----------Keane--------Sheringham------------------

----Ginola------Hoddle--------Gazza------Waddle----

---?????-------Mattbutt(c)-----King-------Perryman----

------------------Clemence---------------------------

strikers are the hardest to choose in this line-up, but I chose it mostly on comitment they brought in the club, otherwise others would get a mention. Who do we put LB. And I also think Roberts deserves a mention but gave King the benifit of the doubt, for he will qualify ahead of him if he remains in the club for all his carrier. Still very hard to choose.
The midfield wont work....but who gives a toss....

It looks as if you've put Perryman RB, so if it's LB we want I'd say Clipboard man.
