Luis Suarez requires only 12 passes to create a chance for Liverpool and Nicky Shorey and Aaron Lennon aren’t far from this number either. Leighton Baines, Gareth Bale and Ricky Lambert are all creating chances less than every 15 passes which is pretty impressive.

The most creative players so far this season. Baines, Suarez, Lennon, van Persie, Taraabt, Duff, Snodgrass and Lambert.

and it's worth noting that Lennon is the only one in that list that doesn't take free kicks :)

I think with the number of times he beats his man he would top that group if his delivery had more variety..

I really wish Lennon would stop chipping the ball to the far post when he gets to the byline. We almost never score from it. It would probably get more joy firing across the 6 yrd box or cutting it back for an oncoming runner from midfield.

He quite often cuts back, though, particularly at the start of this season..

Don't disagree but if there was some fecker in the damn box it would help.

I think the chip to the back post is a percentage ball, we just never have anyone there, so I don't disagree either!

Doesn't help when your strikers are Spazabayor and midget Defoe.

It really is a damning indictment on our strikers that both Bale and Lennon create so many goalscoring chances but have so few assists

Aaron Lennon I don't know what to say about him. He has fustrated the hell out of me because I believe (thought) he has the ablities to do much better but he might be scared and is playing to safe for my liking.

Aaron Lennon should be scoring easily double figures in terms of goals he gets into great scoring positions and far to often takes the easy option.

You'd have thought Ade would have cottoned on to it by now though and would use his height at the back post

When he does that I always take it as a thinly-veiled hint to the management that we should sign a 'proper' centre forward. ;)

Any centre forward would have been good at this point in time.

That's what Bale does and we have nobody in the 6 yard box, Defoe always stops 12 yards from goal for a pull back he's never going to get and never scores from.

As Alan Shearer says it is the wingers job to put the ball into an area, it's the centre-forwards job to get there before the defender. Shearer says he shouldn't always be looking to pick a player out.

Although he may be correct on this occasion the words "Alan Shearer says" are normally a good indication that what follows will be dull, obvious or stupid and possibly all three

The same can be said of most "tame" pundits, but he does know about centre-forward play, not that he's seen much from Ade!

At least Gary Neville, love him or hate him, talks a lot of sense and gives people an insight instead of just inane comments.
