Wow, really what has he done to even be considered, 5 good games then goes into hiding again

Kind of agree with this, I have been disappointed with his appearances since playing for England, his good form seemed to peak in the Boro game, since then he has been a bit more of a peripheral threat than a constant one. Perhaps he has become a bit too complacent with Bentley so out of favour, or possibly teams are paying closer attention to him recently?

Might not be a terrible idea to give Bentley some minutes against Newcastle, though not necessarily from the start, an appearance from the bench will remind Lennon that there is competition for his place.

Lennon was practically our only player who was trying during the dark days under Ramos, and he was still playing well despite being behind Bentley in the pecking order since Harry came in. Recently I don't think he's been complacent, two average games doesn't exactly equal dip in form - he's been nursing a groin injury of late and I think his pace was off in the West Ham game, not to mention he's played a lot of minutes this season (something like 4th most in our squad for the league, plus he's played cup games too). We've probably been reluctant to change the team so he's kept playing, but I think we should give him a rest now and let Bentley have another chance, scoring two great goals tonight should help his confidence a bit.

It's interesting that these were cast in February, since Lennon's best form didn't start until March so he must have been considered as still doing pretty decently before then. At the very least Rafael and probably Agbonlahor, who's only been decent for half a season, are less deserving of it. Evans has been in good form for Utd but has only started 11 times or something. For me it's between Ireland and Young, though Lennon would be good value for the win if the whole season were considered.

still can't believe JJ actually won this once

To be fair, Ilunga played him pretty well on Saturday, on a par with anyone that's come up against him this season.

So, credit to the opposition, plus as lishiyo said Redknapp stated he'd had a groin problem and therefore to expect him to be fully on his game when he had missed parts of training this week was a little too much to expect.

The Man U stuff is just silly. Still, if memory serves that means that every Man U player has to vote for Gerrard.

I think Lennon is in with a good shout and I don't accept the view that he's only been good for the last few weeks. He's been our most consistent player this season and once Harry arrived and gave him a decent run in the side, he has flourished. Yes, there are still aspects of his game we'd like to see being done better, but overall he's been superb.
All the players in this category have been inconsistent this season. The two Villa players have blown hot and cold while Ireland made a fantastic start to the season, but has disappeared recently. I can't even believe the two United boys are in there - Rafael has only played a handful of games while Evans has been in and out of the side.
I think that Young will get it, but would love to see Lennon win as I honestly believe he has been the most consistent this season, particularly when playing in a struggling side.
