Football Manager is the only place where Lennon is still considered an effective player in 2013, so I'm assuming that's where yours is gained from. meanwhile in the real world, I actually went to a game yesterday and saw him deliver precisely nothing. yet again.

Was that your first this season?, if not we can meet up at the next game and chew the fat.

And people wonder why AVB criticises the fans? Yeah, let's criticise a player who has played over 250 games for the club who is just coming back from injury and is playing for large parts in a unfamiliar position. Let's write him off as not good enough and disregard his performances when we got 4th twice and to QF of Champs League. Let's disregard the opinions Redknapp, Jol and AVB and various England managers who all selected him. Jeez. Imagine the reaction if we had lost 3-0 yesterday and he had missed two sitters and walked down the tunnel after being subbed.

People can criticise AVB for picking him when not back to his best or for playing him out of position but laying into Lennon is just wrong IMO.

Football Manager AND in the Spurs manager's office. Though AVB is less knowledgeable than you about these matters, of course.

What's that? You went to the game? Please forgive my previous sarcasm; there's no way you could be clueless if you actually went to the game...

Don't be a dickhead. I'm not the one claiming you have to go to a game to be able to have an opinion.

Regardless, this thread is about an average player. Your calling me clueless won't change a single bit of that.

Lennon would be pissed if he saw all this infighting among us. I mean, that's why he wrote "Imagine" after all! I still think he has a role for some games, but it would mean AVB being flexible with his formation and putting Azza on the right and Townsend on the left. We've actually missed having real width with wing play on both flanks. I think having Rose out has affected our attacking options more than anything. The speed of Rose and the skills of Andros on the left with the pace of Walker and Lennon on the right just stretches the park and the oppo's defence, and creates the space for Eriksen/Holtby and Dembele to find the runs of Paulinho and Soldado.

Takes too long to get going, and for me he doesn't provide what Townsend does or what Lamela will do. Still love him though.

Since his big injury he so rarely takes his man on. He just stands by the touchline, receives the ball, and knocks it back like 99% of the time. Townsend and Chadli at least try to skin the defender half the time.... His only plan is to hope someone feeds him that inside pass like Corluka used to do.... Additionally, he might like to cut the ball back occasionally on those rare byline runs since he doesn't lose his defender like he used to...

Off soapbox now.... :pompous:

Give the lad a chance to get back to full fitness for f sake boys.

Agreed.

He actually provides the one thing we are missing although obviously not from the left.

Love him or hate him he is the only player who looks to get behind his man (usually passed in behind the full-back by Walker) and the shock horror actually wants to play the ball into the box for something called a striker.

Of course he is receiving so many derogatory comments on here that he'll probably sign a new 3 year contract next week!

Not in the first team though.
Everyone else has to prove there worth in the cups, so should lennon.
I actually felt for chads, hes done the cup thing and pretty well and lennon takes his spot, is not even fit and showed against sheriff absolute fcuk all.
AVBs fault of course.
But you cant tell the other lads earn your place, then stick in a half fit player.

Aaron Lennon has been brilliant since he came to Tottenham as young kid from Leeds. His not world class and he is far from shit as some fools would have you believe.

Lennon is a valuable member of a quality squad that we now have.

will everyone else going to the match be meeting you too? and if not, would that mean they weren't really there?

you may wish to rethink the nonsense you're coming out with, son.
