“Nine” and ”shortlist” are mutually exclusive in this context. Typical tabloid idiocy.

So we'll go for option number 10 then.

After the debacle that was Nuno I have very little confidence in Paratici or whatever process they go through. They should know who they want and just get it done quickly.

The 9 listed are:
Poch
De Zerbi
Frank
Enrique
Cooper
Glasner
Tuchel
Marco Silva
Ange Postecoglou

No mention of
Spalletti
Gallado

Who would you go for? Spalletti for me.

I know people are rubbishing this and they are probably right in thinking they've made it up. That said would it really surprise anyone if it were inadvertently true? As I keep saying Every man and his dog knew this day would eventually come and at any time, regardless of whether or not this has come a couple of months early due to Conte's rant. We certainly should not be at the making lists stage, and any forward thinking club would have planned for this from day one.

Give them all a month in charge and see who does best.

Only after waiting 6 months to consider things though.

Anyone still fighting Levy’s corner as regards his suitability to run the football side of things might care to imagine what things would be like if one of his commercial managers walked. Doubtful he’d have a nine-man shortlist, or be indecisive as to what type of person he wanted to employ. And that’s where his strength is. He should accept this, and stay as far away as possible from footballing operations.
Then again, all women should find me deeply attractive. Both scenarios are about as likely as the other.

Said similar in another thread. No way he runs the commercial side with such incoherence, not a chance. The commercial strategy and its execution are superb; but then again they are the priority.

And for what it's worth, I think you're a handsome devil.

Firstly, we don't know the truth or nature of this nine man list. You need to be careful about believing and projecting onto every snippet of vague information.

As to your point, it's not always so straightforward to appoint people in high level corporate positions and this is ostensibly a much more complicated appointment. And it's very likely that they wanted Conte to see out the season. His outburst was a bit unexpected. We don't know the reality of their relationship with Conte and their future plans with him. Maybe they are desperate for him to finish this season as they think he's the best bet for a top four finish.

Furthermore, when Pochettino left, they had the succession lined up. When Espirito Santo left they moved quickly and decisively. Maybe they'll do what people were asking them to do and make a very considered decision this time about the characters involved, the direction of the squad etc. Maybe they were working on a plan to succeed Conte but this sudden flare up makes it all very complicated.

I'm just saying that you're seeing this from a wholly negative perspective. It's fine to hate Levy and the club and fans that don't share your views but I just think this sequence of events is quite normal. Don't you? And surely it provides the opportunity for the club to do what you want them to do? Which is positive, right? The list of available or possible candidates seems significantly more varied and interesting that after Mourinho. Plus the criteria has been refined. There's a good chance that they'll appoint someone we could all get behind.

are we a forward thinking club or a reactive club?

Did we have a long-term plan or did we decide a week or two before, oh this is going t!ts up with Poch, Nuno, Jose, so who is available who would appease the fans!

a plan in my eyes would be a list of potential managers' pros and cons, who fit in with the ethos of the club and the direction we want to head, not to mention a style in keeping with the way we wanted the last manager to play!

rather than any big name who is free, we used to have a 5 year plan we seem to be very reactive in everything we do these days!
