Argentina have the players to go far in the tournament, but I'm afraid Diego will wreck their chances. Now's as good a time as any to show this video again. Would love to see Messi involved in a goal like this.

All i can say is, thank god i decided to follow Barca 11 years ago. There is only one Messi!

I always felt a bit gutted that i didn't see Marodona in his prime. But watching Messi week in and week out more than makes up for it.

Sid Lowe wrote a good article about how great Messi is, but the best is the one guy in the comments who tries to say that Lowe is being disingenuous by leaving out that Ronaldo has a very slightly better goals-to-games ratio, and then everybody jumping on him.

Messi is the greatest in the world. He's been unstoppable this season and I hope he finishes top scorer in La Liga and Champions League. No player comes close to him, just imagine Rooney upfront for Barcelona though. That would be something, a team with Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Rooney

He's phenomenal. I keep having this urge to subscribe to Sky so I can watch him play more often!

I often see his dribbles first time round and it looks like defenders keep getting their foot to the ball and it's deflecting past them. Then when you see the replay you realise they've never touched it, he just has such incredibly close control he can skip past the challenge and then burst into space.

It's lucky he's so good really, because Barca would be fucking boring to watch otherwise! :lol:

He is one of those player you would happily pay money to watch(Messi - not Jason Dozzell!) You can sense the crowd sit up when he collects the ball. He is the complete packages as well, he has bags of talent but also has the right temperament.I think he will carry Argentina are in the World Cup, even though they have an average team, and is a good tip for the golden boot - especially if he keeps this form up (good odds at the moment too).
