After a barnstorming season and brilliant performances in midfield at the Euros, one cannot help but think that our own Harry Winks is on the fast track to legend status.

I mostly agree with the OP, but a couple of obvious omissions:

Klinsmann - Instigated a loan move so he could return to save us from relegation.

Anderton - I think most people forget / never appreciated just how good he was. Could have moved on to win title with Man Utd (like Teddy did), but stuck with us through the gruelling 90s (when even qualifying for Europa Conference League would have been an exciting achievement for us).

Anderton was my favourite player growing up as a Spurs fan in the 90s. He was a great player for us. I'd have him on my legends list for sure if it's purely a subjective sort of thing. I think he still has the record for most premier league appearances for us, although it looks like he's soon to be overtaken by Hugo.

I'd also have Hugo down as a legend as well.

Anderton was my favourite player, then King took over.

For me - to be a "Club Legend" you need at least one of two things:

1. You won something for the club
2. Longevity - you played for the badge for a long time.

I'd put Dawson in the later category, even if he was not a "great" player.

I would not put some of the "great" talents as club legends if they were here for a short time, or never won anything (or at least important games).

Would surely have Teddy on that list although he has said a few strange things in the media against us at times.
He probably deserves a place on the list, due to his appearances and goals. However, he did leave for United and I always felt he only returned once he knew he couldn't cut it at a 'big club' anymore (was still happy to have him back though!). That and some of his odd comments in the media etc. If he talked about us like VDV does then that would be very different...

To make it fair I will only put players I have seen in my life time so some actual legends miss out. I was very young when Hoddle and Waddle were playing for us so will miss them out also. So:

Gazza
King
Anderton
Sheringham
Ginola
Jan
Modric
Bale
Defoe
Berbatov (the guy was pure class)
Dembele
Woodgate (won us the final)
Lennon (winning goal against Chelsea to beat them for the first time in 100 years)
Bale
Lloris
Son

Like I say it’s quite easy to get into my list. My favourite players when I was growing up was also Barmby, Atouba and Kanoute! I had low standards.

You could also put Dawson in the first category (just about), for helping us win the League Cup.

I think the longevity criteria is a bit woolly and someone needs to have been a key player during that time, not just making up the numbers.
Winks is only a couple of seasons off matching Dawson's longevity with the first team but, unlike Dawson, came through our academy right from the age of 5 or 6. All in, he's already been with the club for 10 years longer than Dawson was. Safe to say not many here would include Winks as a club legend.

Definitely! He made it fun for us to watch Spurs again!
Best thing my ex-wife ever did for me was get a t-shirt printed saying "I love Martin Jol..." on the front and "... and Martin Jol loves me" on the back.

Well, that and giving birth to my 3 kids I suppose!

Instead of legends I prefer cult heroes. They don’t have to be great but you loved them anyway. So…

BAE (didn’t know what day of the week it was and looked surprised to find himself on a pitch sometimes).

Atouba (dribbling out of our own penalty box and giving Paul Robinson ridiculous throw ins to deal with).

Kanoute (you never knew what he was going to do. Sometimes would trip over his own feet and other times score a screamer).

For the amount of loving Tanguy gets on here people forget he is just a shit Stephane Dalmet a True Spurs legend.

On a serious note; Daws, Ledley, Modric, Bale and was going to say Kane but then he went on holiday.
