Liverpool and the Europa League

Alright guys.
my dad was saying that he heard on talksport, if liverpool were to win the europa lague this season, they would get qualification into the champion;s league, and 4th place would receive europa league qualification. can anyone shed some light on this?
i seem to remember porto qualifing for the CL through uefa cup success and then going on to win the CL the next season, under mourinho, but i was sure this had been scrapped since??

Liverpool would not qualify for CL if they were to win the Europa League. It's a different competion. Porto won the UEFA Cup but qualified for CL because the also won the league that year as well.

If Liverpool win the europa league then i think they gt back into that cup at least unless they get 4th.

CL and Europa unrelated except for dropouts before Xmas. The year that the scousers got the excepion was when they won the CL but UEFA said that time but never again

Europa should grant a champions league spot but it doesn't. It's an absolute joke how they can link it one way with champions league drop outs coming in, but not link it both ways. That said, this should not be at the expense of fourth place in the league

i wonder if talkshite genuinely says this stuff, thus deserving their rep. or do their listeners misinterpret what is said, unfairly giving them this bad rep. the amount of crap that comes from station is almost unbelievable.

do the winners of the CL even get a CL spot?

the thing with liverpool as i understood it was UEFA said winners don't get in, england have got four spots and it's up to the FA to decide who they go to, the FA wouldnt choose out of everton and pool and UEFA ended up letting them both in

was it changed?
