Liverpool AWAY - Restricted View

Hi All,

I just purchased three tickets for Liverpool Away. The lady at the ticket office advised me that the only ones left are of a 'severley' resticted view. As I have been desperate to go to Anfield for a while I went ahead and bought them. When I asked her what exactly the 'restriction' was she said an overhang on the upper tier.......

Was wondering if anyone had been before and experienced this view? Ive looked on the LFC website and it allows you to see the view from a particular seat but of course I dont know where Im sitting yet, just that its restricted.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Antoni

I was right at the back of the lower tier there last year. It is a bit claustrophobic but the view is fine.

Why is our allocation only 1958 and our allocation for City only 2000- both according to the official site. I am sure we have had more before and are entitled to more.

Yes I went a few years ago and had seats right at the back of the away section. It would probably be ok if everyone was sitting down but standing in those seats you can only just see the crossbar at the far end. It means that every time the ball goes above that height you lose it. We managed to move forward for about half an hour but then got told to go back to our seats by the stewards. It's annoying but you'll still see ok. Just got hope we score all our goals in the non kop end!

Cheers Jimmy. Good point, I was suprised at the allocation. Was also suprised it went to general sale, although I am a season ticket holder but missed the deadline.....

Cheers Basespur, useful info. Im hoping I can move forward if there are spare seats but not hopeful. Hopefully it will be a game played on the deck and that we win 4-0 with all the goals scored in the first half.... as I imagine LFC like kicking to The Kop in the 2nd half.

I was there when we won in May with restricted view. It wasn't too bad. None of the problems mentioned above here, but there was a pillar restricting the view a bit if the action was on the right hand of the pitch. Nothing a bit of leaning over to either side when needed didn't fix.

Come to think of it, I think they grouped the restricted views into two different categories. One might have been just slightly restricted, and would be the one I had, whereas one was restricted, and could be the one mentioned before here.

Thanks Ero. Yes, you're right, there is two categories of restrictions; slightly restricted and very restricted. I believe mine are 'very' restricted but wont know until my ticket lands on my doormat. When they arrive I'll be able to electronically place myself in that seat (via the LFC website).......Im hoping its the 'slightly' category.

I got 2 tickets this morning. I have marginal restricted view. Not too bothered, just happy to be going to the game.

Aren't all the Liverpool home seats 'very restricted'? I thought it was mandatory for Liverpool fans to wear blinkers that impede their ability to see what every other football fan does.

Yeah I was in a severly restricted two years ago, had to crouch down a bit when standing to see the full pitch properly. Its okay I suppose but not my favourite view, I make sure I get my application in on time now.

Anyone wanna rate my chances of getting from Anfield to Lime Street station for 2230...? Would a taxi get me there in time or is the traffic crazy WHL style?

It's about 3 miles which you could poss jog/walk in 30-40 mins but it is pushing it. Plenty of people walk back to the city centre from Anfield so it is doable. Not many cabs around but the traffic is not too bad so if you did get one or a bus it would only take a few mins.

I would chance it and run most of the way with half an eye out for a bus.
