Liverpool owners 'underestimated how poor squad was' when buying club in 2010... with Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina slammed as 'past their prime'

Bought the club after seeing one game. Didn't do enough due diligence on the playing squad. Things that worked in baseball didn't translate into football.

LOL. Do you really need to go through due diligence to realise the squad below is a heap of shit? How can you have owners of a football club that are utterly clueless in terms of football or football culture. Is it any wonder all of the american owners have been a total disaster.

At the time they took over the club, LFC was effectively bankrupt and limping towards administration. Let's not forget Liverpool employed Roy Hodgson in an effort to hold things together until the club could be sold. FSG knew full well that the existing squad was on its last legs but, ever since they took over, they've been splashing big, big money on over-rated players without any apparent plan.

They live in the same world where Liverpool are considered part of 'the Big 4' - and then when Man City got rich, 'the Big 5'. Not displacing Liverpool, no, no, just extend it by one but keep them in. And also the world where Lawro predicts Liverpool to be unbeaten well into March.

Jay spearing, Paul konchesky, Ryan babel, glen Johnson....and they still underestimated the lack of quality. Tells you everything you need to know about American owners!

How can they slam Reina but give Mignolet a new five year contract?
The joke being they've never replaced him and they were top four when he was around.
Proper left bollock dropped with letting him go!

I think they would have won the title if they didn't have Mignolet in goal, an average goalie just like Ben Foster
