Hugo Lloris has told us he wants to play Champions League football again, but he's stopped short of saying he wants to leave Tottenham this summer after reports linking him to Manchester United.

I miss the days when this Red Scum team Man Utd is not in the champs league. Of all the "big teams", they are the worst (or best if u take the meaning literally) at using the media to tap up our players. Rotten club.

Looks like Lloris is trying to do that by himself. Couldn't have been clearer he wants to go to Man Utd

For a keeper especially, it's very rare that the opportunity to join a top top team comes up. In talking top tier teams I mean a barca , real, etc and take your spurs head off and understand man.utd are one of those massive clubs across the world regardless of there current form. On that basis I don't see how anyone could begrudge Hugo a move. He has been exceptional for us and yes I'd rather he moved abroad but like I say they have top keepers for next 10yrs.

The issues spurs have IMHO is keeping stance that Hugo stays yet behind closed doors making it clear this needs to have a deadline if he is to go, not sit there whilst man.u and Madrid spend the summer haggling over de gea and leaveing our planning up in the air.

If he goes then who can blame him everybody wants to play in the CL.He is a world class keeper but what really is pissing me off is players talking to the media alot about other clubs. Why not be quiet and let the clubs and agents deal with it.Be happy if we can sell him too psg then those red scums who always try too tap up players with there ugly looking nerd managers.

It would be nice if just once, Manchester United did a deal with us instead of back handers through the media.

I fucking hate the way they poach players by leaking stories about who they want and how much they're willing to pay them.

That's no different to approaching players without the club's permission.

To be fair he is just responding to constant questions about same subject from media, if you are asked do you miss playing CL? You would say yes... The media then spin that to suit their story about move to CL club. Correct me if I'm wrong but I havnt seen any direct quotes where he has been disrespectful towards spurs or his contract there.

If he does go, and I think that he will unfortunately, do we keep Vorm as No 1 or do we then have to go get a new keeper?

I dont think he'll go anywhere this summer despite the media's best efforts, the reason being the length of his contract and what that means to Levy's stance regarding fee. I simply dont see anyone paying an acceptable fee

Vorm is a good keeper to have has your no1.We are not playing in the CL or going too win the league, but we should be ok too challege for a top 4 spot if he has a very good strong unit infront of him.Getting the back four sorted this summer is more important then a good keeper at the moment i think.Keepers like Hugo, buffon, cech, come around very rare that are world class, but most average teams are still playing in the CL and winning cups here and there all the time.

I would say NO... We're club for top6, not cm. Our QF in that famous champions league was the baddest thing in recent history of Spurs... Only "galactico" supporters think different...

Utter nonsense, that run in the Champions League was one of the most exciting spurs teams in modern times - experiencing the Inter 3-1 game and AC 1-0 game will live with me forever !

Surely it would make more sense for them to go for Cech who is apparently available for a much cheaper price.

Why are Sky even bothered about Champion's League anyway? It's not like they're showing it anymore haha

Yes, I share your frustrations as I'm sure we all do, but it's what these people do. It's one way to drum up shock, horror and controversy, not caring a flying toss who get's upset in the crossfire.

Having said that, players don't do themselves any favours sometimes.

When they're interviewed by the sports media, they never give difinitive answers to straightforward questions. They will never say they have no interest in moving anywhere else, and that all the rumours are nonsense, they always say 'we'll have to wait and see what happens' or 'I'm happy at the moment, but in football, anything can happen'.

Once again, they have no clue how much sodding turmoil and confusion they cause amongst their own fans by doing this, or by being so non-commital.

Maybe this is all part of their media coaching, which they all go through when they're young. Yes, that would be it then.

We need to keep our best players. If Lloris insists on going it should overseas.

I'm not quite comfortable with Vorm. He always gave me goosepimples whenever he played. Perhaps that's to do with getting super confidence with Lloris .
