?

quoted as saying the following when asked re: Man utd

There could have been a development there but the desired movement didn’t happen. I have a lot of affection for Tottenham. I feel respected, I have a very good relationship with the staff and I’m ready to play the best season possible.”

Not exactly the most reputable of news sites, but I would be disappointed if he really suggested that his 'desired' move didnt happen :(

Saw the 2nd part on hotspur related on twitter. Not the first part. But wouldnt surprise me if it was true. Top players want to be playing at the top level. United is a CL club and are closer to lifting the title than us.

These are the actual quotes.....I'd rather believe an English and French speaking Journo, than some blog who've probably just put the French quotes through google translate.

@LaurensJulien: Hugo Lloris on the summer: "There could have been an evolution but the mouvements needed didn’t happen. But Im focused on my club." ...

@LaurensJulien: Lloris:"I have always been professional. I feel attached to Tottenham. I feel respected. I have great relations with the manager, the staff"

I mentioned to someone else that only tweeted the second quotes that the first quotes suggest he wanted a move away, I don't blame him if he does but now he's captain he shouldn't be saying it,

Lloris adopters assemble!

To be fair he's a proper professional. Great role model for the others at the club.

Whether he should be saying it or not is a different matter. I completely agree that he shouldnt have said it.

Is anyone actually surprised by his comments lol

So what if he's captain that's irrelevant it's a job and when he retires I'm sure he wants to have a decent medal collection and I'm pretty sure you don't get medals for beating Arsenal and Chelsea.

It's just the reality of our situation

Unless we start to bridge the gap and become competitive with the top teams in England and Europe our best players are always going to out grow us and have their heads turned by bigger clubs (at some level it's unavoidable - Even the likes of Utd and Arsenal can have their players taken off them by bigger/richer clubs)

We just have to keep doing what we were doing in the first place to get us in the position we're in now. Buying players who become stars and if we have to sell they go for a big profit which we can reinvest in new players who will go on to become stars and repeat the cycle - plus develop our own youth in to stars and hope that they have a deeper attachment to the club and are less likely to be torn away by bigger fish

When he said "desired movement" he's talking about De Gea's move to Madrid. Lloris was wanted by Utd but he was just trolling them and he loves the club, it's fans and especially you.

He's a big name player for us. But should he leave, which I'm not advocating, we'll get circa £20m - which can then be used to get another decent keeper with a bit left over. He's not great with the ball at his feet & has let some sloppy goals over time

He's a professional, so of course he's going to reiterate his allegiance to the club. It's never been in doubt. He strikes me as a man of real integrity and decency.

However, he's one of the top goalkeepers in the world and nobody should be surprised that he wants to play for one of the very top clubs, of which United are one.

Before you start, yes, we're a big club, with good fans and great credentials. But we're not one of the world's elite football clubs and it'd be foolish to suggest otherwise.

Is he talking about his desired movement to another club, or our desired movements in terms of bringing in Berahino?

I know keepers fetch far less than strikers and outfield players in general

But when we're being quoted £20m for Wanyama and in excess of £25m for Berahino - it seems outrageous to suggets Lloris would go for similar if not less money.

Although I suppose it;s probably accurate given the market for keepers vs outfield players

Seems most likely that he didn't say it at all. As usual, any 'quotes' have been manipulated to satisfy someone's agenda.

He won't be here beyond the end of this season, that's for sure. Hope we're keeping tabs on potential replacements so that we can low ball their clubs next summer window, fuck around till the last day then get poch to say that's he's delighted with our shit goalkeeping options.

Laurens' reaction to it on Twitter last night implied he was talking about our transfer activity in, rather than his own potential move away.

Do people actually think that if United made and offer that was accepted he wouldn't go? To people actually believe he would turn down Manchester United? I think people need to have a word with them selves if they answered yes to these questions.

He's a top pro, I don't think he will kick up a fuss or moan or complain but he will want to play at the highest level. While United may be a shadow of there former selves they are still a substantially bigger club than us.

If this statement is true, I expect him to be gone by next summer. But if he goes he goes. We will find a worthy replacement.
