Unfortunately Port Vale knocked out of the cup on pens by Stevenage last night. Alfie had an assist.
Harvey White scored for Stevenage.
Next Tuesday Port Vale home to Mboro in carabao cup quarter final . Not on tv .
Baffling to me that a quarter final isn’t televised. The EFL need to sort their shit out with regards the tv contracts for the league cup.

Just the 2 televised . Obviously bigger games than Port Vale but if they can get through we will have 2 legged semi to watch. Would be good to see Alfie in a big game .

Anyone watching their cup game against Boro? He started match but unfortunately Boro 2 up...

Ended up staying on for full match which is a real show of faith in him. Hopefully someone has watched it so we can hear how he did.

Seems he played deeper than he has been tonight, WhoScored had him as one of the 2 cm’s in their 343 be nice if he could potentially play alongside Donnelly rather than compete for the same position. I know we play a different formation but in an ideal world where they both make it😂

Watching this comp of one of his most recent performances seems to support the idea that he can play as an 8 and Donley as the 10.

Yeah it's been a very productive loan for Devine thus far, I did some work at Port Vale when I was in Uni as part of my course and one of my mates stayed there and is still there. He said the staff have been blown away by Devine and they feel he has a very bright future. Fully expect the likes of Devine, Donley & Moore to be part of the pre season tour, they should get a real chance to impress.

i noticed some posts in the conor gallagher thread saying that alfie doesn't start for port vale or that he's in and out of the side, this is fake news, or at best old news. it's true that when he first arrived he took a little while to settle, which is normal for a young player taking their first step into senior football but he has since cemented his position in the side and starts every game:

i was surprised to see him loaned to a league 1 side but if he ends up with 30 odd starts then that's a positive year for him and one he can build on next season.

Teyreese Hall won’t be far away either. Looks a hell,of a player, very good performance in under 18 today.

Played mostly in a 10 position for Port Vale, but recently more of an 8 after Sheffield United recalled Arblaster. Definitely getting a lot of games and experience.

Must have a championship loan lined up. Or maybe he’s getting his chance to show what he can do.
