Alleged racist attack, he wasnt convicted of a racist attack but of affray which is fighting. Cheating on your mrs with a hooker, must be the first time that has ever happened.

Suarez called Evra a nigger and bite Ivanovic - the 2nd time he has biten a player. As well as his career ending challenges in Eredivisie.

1 - Doesn't make it right or morally acceptable.

................Soldado
Suarez.......................Chadli
....Sandro.Paulinho..Dembele
Coentrao..............Walker
.......Kabul.........Vertonghen
................Lloris

Not a bad line-up, although I would be playing Verts and Kaboul on the opposite sides to what you have there.

Now that football is strictly business, there are no perpetual enemies. If AVB thinks he can do a job and if Levy thinks the economics are beneficial, I don't see why not.

We don't have to take the high road all the time.

Suarez.

Excellent player, best movement off the ball I've seen since Klinsmann.

It's about time we had a player nobody else loves, he'd eat his own family (and probably has) to score a goal.

Ruthlessness wins championships.

I assume the OP was prompted by Roger Morgan's ITK.

Absolutely no way. And since Levy reportedly vetoed the idea of going for Barton and Bellamy, I can't see him going for this piece of human garbage.

You can be ruthless without being racist.

Maybe so but I want a team of players who I can support and be proud to be associated with. It's what separates us from Chelsea

Oh, and moral issues aside, it's a lot of money for someone who a) is going to miss the first 8 games and b) is likely to pick up more suspensions

True. But I don't get the impression he tries harder to score against black defenders or am I missing something?

He shouldn't have said what he said, but I'm still not convinced of the context of the entire disagreement to be honest - you don't try to make friends with a black person the way that Suarez did with Evra as soon as the referee had a word if you are a racist.

Then the whole biting incident was blown completely out of proportion I'm afraid.

He's a fine player and a winner. We need more winners.

When I saw that Arse were looking likely to sign him, I was gutted and thought he would be an excellent signing for them, but when he was linked with us, I thought no thanks.. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Probably for the same reasons as me. Only care about Suarez the player when he's at a different club, but don't want to be associated with Suarez the individual at our club.

I can forgive little indiscretions. Owen, Gerrard, Bale, Beckham and many others have dived and some I'd even say are divers. I don't like it but it's small enough for me to say I happily have these players at Spurs. We'd never have accepted Ginola if our moral high ground is so high.

Others have made big mistakes but seem to be a one-off, wrong place at wrong time or done when young and matured into someone decent later such as Lampard and Woodgate. Happy enough to have these guys at Spurs.

But Suarez is different for me. He doesn't cheat occasionally. He is a cheat. He doesn't just dive he is quite nasty and everytime I see him play I just hate him. He came across as quite a nice guy on the Liverpool show behind the scenes but on the pitch he simply disgusts me.

As good as he is, I couldn't accept him or Joey Barton at Spurs regardless of ability.

This was my position at the time the thread was started, it hasn't changed.
