Good to see a chairman who while taking personal interest in affairs, does not interfere negatively.

Indeed. This isn't the first time a player has come out and said they were swayed by personal talks with Levy.

Funny really, members here complain about our wage structure and that we don't pay enough to attract stars, then we get comments like the above. Could it be that he just comes across as a smart, but respectful guy?

There is no way Modric's salary will be touching Woodgate's. I'd imagine it'll be similar to Berbatov's.

It won't work for me, what does he say?

Modric says that he heard the chairman was there and everything was decided. He says he was in a state of shock as he didnt expect it then. Although he was more then happy to reply that he accepted to join us.

He says he could hardly sleep the night before meeting Levy and was very excited flying to London with him and with this act Levy was showing how much he wanted to please his coach as it was Ramos who wanted to sign Modric.

Thats basically it :)

So along with the fact we seem to be looking at players from Spain (Gio who apparently met with Ramos in Jan) and Capel (from his old club), it would seem to confirm the ITK reports that Ramos decides on 1st team signings.

 all seems to be good, after a hectic start to the season and the Jol debacle, we seemed to have settled down, and Ramos has probably stamped his authority ultimatum style - "i agree on signings or i leave" sorta thing. I do miss Jol but feel he may have been treated disrespectfully by the club and a lot seemed to go over his head, however, Ramos seems to be using his reputation as a bargaining point and he has things his own way.

Is there a pic of him in the shirt yet? I mean a proper one, not some half-arsed p'chopped effort, like they did with KPB when he arrived
