Pochettino certainly has built a reputation as one of the best managers in the game for working with young players and how he goes about it was on full display in the StubHub Centre.
He was constantly taking the young players aside and talking to them, as well as giving them no end of teasing. The Argentine took part in a rondo in the early stages of the session, trying to help keep the ball away from the two players in the middle and whenever he swept it away from young winger Anthony Georgiou, he seemed to laugh and joke with the player.
Later, as the players walked off to begin their possession-based game, he took Luke Amos off to one side and walked across the pitch with him, arm around his shoulder, imparting some words of wisdom as the 21-year-old nodded away.
I wouldn't bet against seeing the midfielder feature in the middle again for the match against Barcelona.
