First 15 minutes thought we played our best stuff of the year and was lacking the finishing. Should have been 2 or 3 up and game done and dusted. Home team is always going to grow into it and they did but you felt we were going to breakthrough that second half 11 v 11.

Bissouma just dumb mistake and you start thinking here we go, Spurs of old coming out. Brilliant individual play by Maddison gave us out of jail card. Defense stood tall to the challenge. Special mention to Kulu who I thought did a brilliant job playing alone up top and fought hard to hold it up.

Actually some very mature performances out there for us today, Vicario, Romero, VDV, Kulu..
Romero’s growth this season from a yellow card waiting to happen to a calm and considered player has been such an important part of our overall improvement

I did not understand why nobody else saw this. He was our most complete CM all match. Great all-around game from him.

Ended with 2 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 successful dribbles - and just bags of energy when we needed it.

ETA - and 3 Key Passes
he had a Jekyl and Hyde performance. in a 1-0 game, you can't pass to the other team in the transition to the middle third giving them an attack with numerical advantage while everyone tries to catch up to the play. Brilliant moments for sure but some dismal moments too

Richarlison scores his two chances, Porro too and that is a very comfortable game.
Yeah but they didn't, that's my point. It'll come in time but Ange himself just said we haven't won a game comfortably this season yet.

Easy to say now I've taken my heart pills but I think I actually like us winning that game more that way than pumping a newly promoted team. We've learned somethings about this team and individuals and Ange and the coaches will have plenty to sink their teeth into next week. Everyone on their toes but still a positive atmosphere.

And another 3 points in the bag.

I'm glad aswell for the refs, I think it was a type of game they needed, a big decision to make, got it right and we were rightfully punished but despite our mistake we were still able to win. I mentioned it before but they've had a rough go of it this week and so I don't mind highlighting the positive in relation to the negative.

I actually find it hugely encouraging that we made a mistake, were punished for it but we were still able to succeed. We got what was deserved with the red but that doesn't mean we didn't deserve to win the game, It feels like the correct dosage of suffering

But you have to see the big picture - you can't pin point a few wayward passes and decide he played poorly.

On balance - Sarr was a very important player for us today, and he made far more positive contributions than negative.

Feels like a massive result mentally for the club. can drink that in over the international break.
Feels like a massive result for me mentally let alone the players. Mickey, what more can you say! Thought Kulu was great that second half too. Such an engine. Football is about moments that are usually spectacular but when he was all on his own up there and had the courage to trust himself and keep the ball and lay it off was a moment for me. Not spectacular but was in its own way. He’s got his faults but what an engine. Loved it.

To think we were slightly worried we could end up with a lot of high scoring, backwards and forwards games, attacking relentlessly but letting a few in, and yet here we are having played Arsenal, Utd, Pool etc., and are still sitting with 0 losses and top of the league. Impressive stuff Ange.

If anybody knows a Liverpool fan that wants to know how to win a game and go top when you’re down to ten men, tell them to watch Spurs on MOTD tonight

We needed the bare minimum win and got it. Massive result for us following the shit we’ve been associated with this past week. On to the next game.

Kulu really took responsibility today. Impressive. Not just a good player but intelligent and mentally strong. Ran all day too.
It’s all about the mix on the pitch. Yes, we could swap out Deki for a quicker player, but you lose something else. Same with Richy, easy to say we need a more clinical player, but he brings other stuff. I like what I saw from Veliz, but I’m not ready to drop Son just yet, for all his limitations.
