Manchester United's owner Malcom Glazer passed away at 85 years old today. The Buccaneers(the Glazers American football team) confirmed it on their twitter.

RIP and condolences to the family.

Wonder what this means for their assets and if United could be sold.

Blimey. Only room for one John McCrireck I guess.

Sad news for his family. I guess no change for Man U for a while at least.

Absolutely and there would have been succession plans in place I'm quite sure.

Do you think that they won't get back to being a successful side again?
I reckon it'll take them a good five years, even LVG won't be able to fill fergie's boots and he's a top notch manager.
A club can't maintain the level of success that Man U have had without a serious dip, would be a sensible time for the glazers to step aside.

I thought his sons were involved in the running of United, rather than Malcolm. Could be wrong.

I wouldn't disagree. Surely it would have to be a sheik takeover as who else could afford to buy them?

Yeah I thought he had been incapacitated by a stroke or something quite a while back with his kids taking the reins. So for Utd probably not going to have a massive effect, presuming the family want to keep the club.
