The transfer window closes before the start of the premier league season now.

If Levy is still on holiday in Miami with the window closing and stadium nearing completion, this place will literally meltdown.

They're in a relegation battle. There was no way they would let him leave in January.
It goes a bit further than that too. It states that Poyet was promised that Malcom would not be sold this window. Then again, I do believe AVB was promised the same with Bale during that summer.

I think he was promised he wouldn't leave this window.

After watching the highlights of their game yesterday I am not at all surprised by their league position. Saying that the opposition were terrible too.

He was never joining this month anyway as its a deal for summer so those quotes don't mean anything.

However I'm still following the we only spend what we receive in transfers model unless I see any evidence we've changed our policy. So if we spent £40m on him we've got to raise that in summer, if we spent on say Sessegnon we've got to raise that too. And so on.

look he never joining in the summer either to be fair, it's probably a smoke screen for someone else like Kluivert.
I do think Moura is more likely, given it will be a loan etc.

Based on the comments from Poyet and their owners, I highly doubt any transfer for Malcom will be agreed in January, even if it is for a summer transfer. A deal could be struck in principle I suppose, but even the announcement of a transfer this month or before the end of the season would be pretty unhelpful during a relegation battle. Seems that we can forget about this one for now, unless we make them an offer that they can't refuse - but we don't generally make those offers.

I'm confident he'll be ours in the summer.
If we're just hoping they will honor a price they've quoted us in the summer I have little to no confidence of that. I'm of the belief that if he isn't officially announced or signed something this window he's off to another club.

No I meant we'll agree this Jan for him to join in the summer.

Why on earth would they?

Well via his Instagram, it does seem that he was with his agent all day yesterday and they seemed to be celebrating something. It is interesting why they wouldn't do this in London but I can't say I fully understand what all paperwork is required and the entire process.

Maybe the paperwork wasn't done in London because there is no paperwork. Maybe they were not celebrating a transfer. Just a thought.
