Better than Malcolm? I though he has looked pretty dam good. Gotta be Martial or Bale that we are waiting on. If we get a good sign on either of those, I think we’ll pull the trigger.

Agreed - Malcom does look pretty good.

Bit risky waiting for Man U to cave on Martial. If they string us along and we miss out on more realistic targets like Malcom, what happens then?

Metaphorically speaking, it sounds like we're ignoring the "buy it now" players because we're watching a few auctions we're hoping to win.

Hopefully it's not as risky as that, as anyone who uses eBay will know the usual odds

Malcom looks very similar to a younger Coutinho. He has that shoulder drop and quick step that allows him a second of separation to let his deadly rockets fly also his vision and decision making will certainly improve with time as he is still only 21. There are questions about his possession heavy playstyle, but he does play for Bordeaux and there isn't much around him. Certainly wouldn't mind him now, especially for around £35Mil, which seems pretty cheap by today's standards.

Shhhh you're only allowed to comment based on the exciting YouTube clips of him beating a whole squad and back healing it in. People don't like it when someone actually has an opinion from watching players in real games.
Exactly this. Two dislikes of my opinion, despite there being a disagree rating. Maybe it’s just me they dislike. :D

Anybody else nervous when they hear “we are in for better than this guy “ when this player is clearly available, talented and interested in us and can only assume the better player is a very complicated deal that is more likely to not come off as it is o happen?

Just screams of us putting all our eggs into the Martial basket, losing out with 2 days left and not having enough time/options to get a good replacement in

Agreed..and as much information there is that this summer will be different, we are confident etc, it just isn’t playing out that way. Have to be cynical due to our past experiences in transfer windows.

Would it be correct to guess that we’d string Malcom and Bordeaux along, saying ‘yeah, we are gonna do it, we will sign him/you, just give us time’ while we are trying for bigger targets?

Genuine question, cos I think I’d play it exactly like that, in case we missed out. Not fair on the player, but could do us a world of good.
