The deal probably isn't that bad, but we don't really have a need for De Jong and Johnson is good but both will be on wages we would not match and unlikely to take a pay cut to join us. So its probably a story made up for the sake of having a story and printed with any two players who seem to fit the bill and don't play much added in to add credibility to the story.

Thing is, if Bale and Modric want to go we have to make as much as we can. £40m plus Johnson aint that bad a deal but I am sure they could stretch to Milner as well.

Swap Milner for who you want, the point I am making is if we feel, for whatever reason that we should sell then we go for the best deal possible with cash plus players as they need to lower their wage bill. Milner and Johnson are both very good players to get for free, having made £30m profit on Bale as well.
Will not happen though imho.

K, £50m + Ade. Use the extra £10m to give Ade a phat signing on fee to compensate for wages in line with our other top earners for the durations of his contract.

They'd regret ever phoning DL up again, they should have learnt a lesson when dealing with him last summer. By the end of the call we'll still have Bale, have Ade hre on a 3 yr loan with Citeh paying 100% of his wages and have sold them Defoe for £25m.
I have no doubt that many clubs, some of them even really big clubs with like a history and stuff, will be sniffing round our Gaaaareth. We qualify for the CL, it ain't happening. Let's just hope the two fingers the chavs got last summer resonated in a few people's heads.
