Manchester United held on to start their season with a lacklustre win against Tottenham thanks to Kyle Walker's early own goal.

finally got to watch the game and have a few observations:
1. yes the bentaleb error was very poor but our press saw Morgan S (twice), Blind and Mata all make poor mistakes far closer to their goal and were lucky not to be punished for at least 1-2 of them. That being said Nabil can do much, much better. Also, unlucky Walker with the recovery run and OG.
2. Man Utd MOM was the right back or, if you go with the commentators, Smalling
3. Erickson should have scored early on, Kane should have squared to Chadli - we were all over them first 20 mins
4. We controlled second half - all commentators here in the US (particularly the two Robbies) agreed we deserved more
5. SC match day comments show too many negative agendas - not surprising but disappointing
6. Dier - very strong DM game (first competitive game there since Sporting) - as commentators noted, partly due to him the Man U MOM will be a defensive player
7. Chadli - did press and did run back. Some good attacking runs as well in second half where balls to him were cut out
8. Erickson - some almost moments but energy levels lower than would like to see and so he was not as influential/ strong
9. Walker - well played - best game in a while
10. Need Danny Rose back
11. Need a different option off the bench than Lamela - need a speedy attacker
12. If you think where these teams were in the Spring, see the changes since, Poch should be happier...Utd 4th at best

Why cant anyone give a negative opinion on this site without some... body springing the word 'agenda'?
Seriously wtf does that even mean?
Its not an agenda for Gods sake anymore than a positive poster has an agenda. Its just some insignificant online nobody airing his/her opinion.
Being a pessimist or annoyed and raging at the world on here doesn't mean you have an agenda and nneither does a positive post.
What could possibly be the end game to an agenda? What could you possibly hope to achieve lol.
Its such a pathetic suggestion its laughable. I know flag waving is very popular on here but come on.
Sorry for rant but please, for love of God people, stop accusing every poster you disagree with of having an agenda.
It seems some have picked up on others using it and now spew it out at every opportunity without even thinking about what they're actually suggesting.
Has an agenda lol. Like there's secret Gooners on here trying to cause disruption amongst the whole spurs community until they call to arms and march into WHL, string up Levy and then burn the place to the ground lol.
Next, world domination.

Seriously though, stop it:devil:

Watched the game and was disappointed we didn't get something out the game.
First 20 mins or so we closed down players well and had some nice linkup play.
However went wrong when walker got a OG...He was unlucky that's for sure.
But before than and after Bentaleb was giving the ball away with SIMPLE passes....It was his main fault last season aswell....because for all the good he does...He has the habit of making these stupid misplaced passes.

Second half tad slow by both teams then we seemed to get more control of it and last 10 mins start creating again but too late.

Overall first game of the season and it showed some good things ...Some not so good.
However the defence looked alot better...tighter and contained man utd pretty well.
Where we lost it was in the middle. ..so would like to see a dm/cm who can control a game. ...a striker as we are well short and a winger with pace...before this window shuts.

Sorry what else does Bentaleb do? That's an honest question by the way.

He's done some nice passing... breaking up play...closing people down quickly, hence the reason he was put in the team by timmy......HOWEVER like I said he makes too many stupid errors and there the ones that stick in everyone's head because they are or should be straight forward passes that anyone could and should make.
IMHO. ...We have good young midfielders that are willing but we need better and it's clear to see.....that's if we have Amy ambition to finish in the top 4 or maybe top 6 this season.
