Yeah but we have our CBs back, a Romanian dragon and Turbo Timo Werner.

Hamstring injuries always make me nervous, I appreciate we won't have rushed VDV but I still worry when they come back from such an injury. Drag is new to the league so we don't know how he'll perform yet and Werner needs to get used to the system in order to potentially see the best from him.

Where is the negativity coming from? Utd have been atrocious all season bar one game against Villa.

Because our record there is shocking.

They were atrocious under Ole and Rangnick and still managed to beat us.

It's going to be a very difficult game, especially with Hojlund, Rashford, and Garnacho against our high line.

And their players have just returned from injury haven't they? I don't think Ange would risk someone unnecessarily. So if they start, then they have been deemed ready to go.

Spursy is nothing to do with winning or losing and never has been, Spursy is Kevin de Bruyne coming back just in time for our cup tie against City.
That's nonsense. He came back in time to come on and help beat Newcastle so does it make it Newcastle-sy? Dragusin was registered just in time and VdV returns in time for Utd. Does that make it Man Utd-sy? There's so many examples of these things for every club. The word Spursy stuck because it sounds better than those others.

I was talking about hamstring injuries specifically not all types of injuries, they just worry me as they can come back quite easily and that can happen whether the player can be deemed ready to go or not.

Not confident today because I thought without Son we looked pretty average in attack versus Burnley. I’d hope we’ll have more control and look better defensively with 2 of VdV/Cuti/Dragusin playing - and that might make us better at building from the back and playing through their midfield quickly - but I’m not expecting us to create as much as we’ve grown accustomed to under Postecoglou.

There shouldn’t be any mental block about this fixture though - since Ferguson retired we’ve won at OT a few times and finished above them several times in the past decade.

Edit: We’ve finished above them 5/10 seasons since SAF retired, and win there 4/11 seasons (including in SAF’s final season).

But it'll be his first start, the term Spursy never came about because of losing but people started using about that because they never knew the truth and that stuck. Spursy is the rules being changed, the rules affecting Spurs then the rules being changed again so it never affected anyone else. It's about things going against Spurs.

Exactly, I've seen our chances talked up when we play them up there too many times and it all ends up in a defeat far too many times before.

Yes I'm excited by our two new acquisitions, but Dragusin has not played one single minute of PL football, to expect him to hit the ground running and play a blinder and put on a faultless display right from the off is a big ask.
I worry Romero could be rushed back too soon, and we have no idea if VDV will play the full 90 mins.

Werner is being talked up as though he will have an immediate positive impact. He might but he's not played much in a while so that is also a big ask.

Kulu is clearly a little under the weather even if its a cold / bug so he won't be 100%.

Maddison may get a spot on the bench but as great ad he is he will need time to get back to what we've been used to.

I'm not saying we can't turn it on and bag 3 points but it will be a big ask.

I'd be happy with a draw and no further injuries so we can gear up for a real crack at Man City.

I think we will need to rely on a big performance today from Vic who is likely to be called on more than we think today.

For me we will need excellent performances today from Bents Kulu and Vic today and Richy and Johnson will need to be more clinical with chances that could come their way, if some of the others also do well it's a bonus. For all Man United's woes they will still get chances against us today.

I feel romero especially is really underrated by how much we can create with him playing, be it his joining with the attack or him taking 2 or 3 players out of the press by holding onto the ball. I think we will be fine as long as the ref doesn't give them everything

I never feel confident in this fixture. There's been the odd win there, even thrashed them under Jose once. However generally speaking it's one of our worst fixtures like Anfield, Emirates and Stamford Bridge. If it wasn't for the players out I'd feel more like we can change that. However can't help feel Utd will play their game of the season. Also we haven't actually played great since the Newcastle game despite 3 wins in 4. Need to be better today.

We're a different proposition nowadays. These past defeats have no bearing on todays match imo.

A midfield with both Skipp and Hojbjerg would in my opinion, given the lack of creativity and technical ability in our front line, be one hurdle too many.
So you think we would have ‘no chance’ if we play them? No on is saying it’s what we want, but we’d still be better than them in every other area of the pitch, and have Bentancur to run things

People also seem to forget we have been quite poor recently. Still without key players in midfield. It will be tough, no doubt

Tweets claiming Romero seen with the squad in Manchester. I doubt he does that unless he's at least on the bench. Any word on whether Madders has been seen?

No-one is saying it won't be a competitive game but they're favourites purely because they are at home. Look at their form and league position, they're not favourites based upon that, that's for sure. We have a much better team than them and play far better football. I honestly cannot see anything other than a Tottenham win.

Our record there isn’t shocking at all. We’ve beaten them 4 times since 2012 - only Liverpool, Chelsea and City have won more league games there in the whole PL era. Winning 4 out of 11 away to big side is very respectable, and they aren’t at their usual level at the moment

We've won 5 of our last 6 games in league and FA Cup..
We rode our luck against both Everton and Bournemouth, and needed a worldie to break the deadlock against a very poor Burnley . The performance levels need to improve and we seem to lose a couple more players to injury every week to offset those who are returning. There’s lots to be positive about but our results have been better than the performances lately.

Plus look at the managers we had in those defeats playing gash defensive football. It's a different proposition now.
