We weren't bad but so far Johnson has continued his tendency to be indecisive over what to do in and around the box and Werner is understandably not in timing with Udogie so soon after joining. I thought we were in trouble looking at the midfield and we're not looking good defensively but attacking wise lots of playing in their final third just poor end product.

We’ve played well but defended badly, Utd have also exposed our main weakness in this Ange system which is the gaps where normal full backs would usually be.

Without the athleticism of Bissouma and Sarr and with Bentancur having to play further forward our defence has some big holes, +Romero & VDV not quite up to speed yet understandably.

Need to make it 2-2 before 70 mins to have a chance to turn this around for 3points.

I think PEH has played quite well, Skipp has actually done ok for once, Bentancur fine apart from the yellow. Need more from Johnson, Werner has looked a threat but needs a goal for confidence.

Shame we have little off the bench to change it.

Wonder if Ange will chuck on Donley, Santiago on Gil if needed and for who.

Hm. Largely in control, there's definitely a chance here for us. Still think we lack really clinical wide players when Son's out - did anyone really expect Timo or Brennan to score with their chances?

Missing lots of key players and still annoyed we are losing at ht at old Trafford. How times have changed. Hopefully Ange sorts them out at ht.
Yeah I am watching this and thinking I am so glad we got Ange and not Ten Hag

My initial concerns are confirmed so far. No creativity at all, Skipp looks completely lost out there. Both Werner and Johnson are too soft and prefer to pass back then run at their man. Defence has surprisingly been poor as well. Porro plays too inverted when we defend and it leaves Rashford with acres of space.

Lots to do second half if we want to get back in this.

Can't get my head around how we are losing this. United's nothing special, just our own stupid mistakes/choices that have given them two goals so far. I'm fuming right now.

Their injured players coming back makes no difference ad they will still be playing counter attacking football

We are missing 5 of our 6 forward and midfield players and it shows

Although have to give props to skipp who is doing OK for once

Rashford is causing us problems and Porro is getting no help from Johnson. I’ve mentioned this in previous games that Johnson is very slow to get back to help defensively. Werner is doing ok but his lack of recent game time is apparent. I’d like him to run at the FB more instead safely passing back .
Swap their sides ?

Still shocked they swept the Evans elbow under the carpet. If it were romero it would be forensic analysis with Neville chanting ooooooo you naughty boy
MMA elbow and they don't even mention it. Bizarre.

Well regardless of how we feel, Ange is not going to "address" this defensive issue. Thats not how we operate. We will be the winning 5-4 team throughout his tenure here

Werner showing willing but needs to get his shooting boots on. The midfield is as bland as expected.
Still in it but not many options on the bench....

There's more goals in this game for sure but we need to persist in getting the ball forward quickly as opposed to camping in their third, passing it slowly and then allowing them to break on us at speed against our high line.

Werner finding space frequently but needs to hone that final pass/shot whereas Johnson has largely served up very little indeed and struggling to make a case for him to start in the forseeable injuries permitting.

We are creamed over peak trent and we are now sort of getting that with Porro but I wouldn't change him for anyone

Really frustrating as you can pin point the players not available that would have helped us pick up the win here.

Instead we've got another 45 mins of us having most of the ball and looking semi dangerous but getting hit on the counter to end the game.

Johnson doesn't seem to have any belief in himself to be able to take someone on in a 1v1. Always takes the easy option of stopping or passing backwards. Wan bissaka is on a yellow he needs to be targeting him.
