Same shit, different year. We have 2 weeks left and have done next to nothing important so far in the window.

We have signed one of the best Centre backs in Europe last season and one of the best up and coming young talents in Spain. The squad is already stronger as well as they don't have Mourinho self sabotaging and telling them to fear the ball everyday in training.

You just arent privy to what is going on - it really doesn't mean that nothing is going on -

Think about it logically - you really think everyone is just sitting around not doing anything? You have been told by anyone in the know - from ITK to journos to everyone that Paratici does not stop working - not only that he is great at his job.

So while we have all been burnt before we actually did loads of positive business last summer and the summer before did we not?

The Kane saga is clearly going to affect what players we bring in, why pull the trigger now on players, if we sell Kane before the end of the window and we can pull the trigger on better targets? It makes no sense.

insignia would be a good option for a couple of years while Scarlett and Parrot develop. Similarly Zaha if he didn’t cost too much.

Jovic is an interesting one for me, such a promising player with so much going for him. Wouldn’t be the first player that just couldn’t fit in at Real Madrid. If brought in on a loan with an option could pay dividends.

Damsgaard would be an investment for the future For sure and contribute along the way.

can’t say I’m sold on Aouar but he is available but looks best in that left midfield slot where Dele doing ok and Gio could cover. as popped up in another thread if McKennie comes available at Juve would be worth a look. Nandez and Zaharia both sensible options.

a motley collection but gettable and would strengthen the squad and starting line up.

Whether we like it or not....Unless Kane is sorted nothing will move. Players we need & what we can afford completely changes from whether Kane stays or goes. Every club in same position - in their inability to move the deadwoods

I didn’t reference what is going on, I’ve referenced what we’ve done which is not enough. We’ve won 1 game and again our fans are overlooking the glaring holes in the squad!

What we have done is brought in a new manager who clearly has been working on the squad mentality and fitness, without which we could bring in 20 new players and it wouldn't make a difference, as Jose proved.

I don't think anyone is overlooking the holes in our squad, I think some people are just being a bit more patient than others. That's not to say those being more patient are in the right to be that way, they just have a different outlook.

Here ill prove it.

We need a new RB, creative MF, CB and one if not two strikers. We haven't gotten those players in yet but I'm not panicking just yet as a transfer can be all but agreed without any of us knowing it until the trigger is pulled.

We’re at that stage of the window where people starting forming into two camps. Basically the optimists and the pessimists. Hopefully most can remain calm and we can enjoy some good results whilst we wait for the end of summer!

I’m leaning to the optimist side of things. I think the best two ‘bits of business’ we’ve done this summer is get Nuno as manager (I was against when he was linked but my word he’s everything we need!), and having Skipp come back at another level to the player who left on loan 12 months ago.

Still optimistic about the rest of the window. Wouldn't be if everyone else wasn't in the same boat, mind, but barely anyone has done any business, it's not just us. A lot of dominoes ready to fall I think, and a mental final week, and we at least have someone at the helm this year with some idea how to navigate that. 100% that we'd still even be waiting on Romero at this point without Parrot Tits greasing the wheels in Italy. I have faith ?

I often wonder if those moaning the loudest about the delays in the transfer window have ever bought and sold a house where they are in the middle of a complex chain. It’s the most comparable situation most of us will ever get to buying and selling international, elite footballers.

Azmoun: 40 goals and 16 assists at Zenit the last two seasons and widely regarded as the second best player in Asia behind Son for the last five years. Contract expiring next season and is a complete CF with a skill set similar to Kane.

Jovic: Had arguably a better season at Frankfurt in 2018-2019 than Vlahovic had last season, but has lost form with a move to Madrid before he was ready. On a loan deal, he would be a calculated gamble worth taking, as he is a huge talent.

Aouar: Very talented player that Paratici nearly signed for Juventus. Is available at a lower price, but the talent is unquestionable.

Other will disagree, but I'd rather go the above route, taking advantage of contractual situations to land players who have skill sets we need in the squad, versus signing one or two players like Martinez or Vlahovic and hoping they are a hit right away. They are good players, but they aren't anywhere near sure things like Lukaku or Haaland.

The others I’d heard of but not Asmoun. Quick research and he looks like someone that could really do a job for us.
For Jovic, on loan, looks a reasonable Martinez alternative.

Really need to starting seeing some movement if we are going to get in the right number of players we need this summer...
