I like him (bar his view on managers) but he basically spends 7 minutes saying a lot whilst saying absolutely nothing.

Doesn't address the concerns with the style of play, no mention of Nuno at all and mentions "long term project" about 7 times despite the fact we've currently got a manager with a two year contract and a break clause at the end of this season.
It just sounds like it has been released as a PR stunt to dampen down fan unrest and lack of interest with 10k missing on Sunday.

I personally don’t think we are that far. Away from competing , two more positive transfer windows would be excellent and see us moving forward COYFL

Guys have we ever been linked to the Colombian Luis Diaz who tore up the Copa America this year and plays for Porto I think. He would be a much better buy than Traore who has no end product. Why are we not looking at these potential not too far away superstars before the really big boys are interested. These are the kind of signings we should be targetting in my opinion. Haven't been following the thread so forgive me if it is off topic.

Sarr and Gil are very very young and now starting at this level and so will be learning and will have growing pains.I am speaking about the level above them. Players who are starting to excel and ready to blow up. Apparently Bayern are already interested in Luis Diaz. Was the same with Ruben Dias last year.Moaninho had the chance to sign him-now look at him.

We have been linked to him before, yes.

The problem is Porto will want 50m plus for him.

To be fair you don't really appoint a coach on a 5 year contract, especially in this climate. I think we all know that this appointment was way way down our preferred list and Paratici hardly had great opportunities, he was operating under tight constraints. If it had been Nagelsmann or Potter perhaps it would have been a longer contract but I don't think the coach is the major factor here.

The fact that our signings have all been young with huge potential and with Skipp, Scarlett and Tanganga becoming more regulars leans towards his message of long term project.

If Nuno isn't the man they will go and find another coach who is more preferable.

Unless you get Klopp, Guardiola or an elite coach, it's very hard to commit to a coach long term without them proving themselves first.

I’m going to be honest and say I wasn’t very happy with his interview.

I got the impression that he was basically saying that loosing those 3 matches didn’t really matter but we have to remain positive.

I think there’s a disconnect to all of the fans that think we didn’t need to be so far behind and we are only in this position because of how poorly we have been run in the last 3 years.

We have been in a long term project since ENIC took over. I was grateful for ENIC after getting us away from the awful Sugar years but I’ve lost a bit of faith in their leadership and I don’t think Fabios addressed genuine concerns

He said mentality 1, style of play 2 and that they want to build the best team with the best style of play so he did address that and it’s importance.

It was right that he didn’t address Nuno directly at this point as any comment would be putting him under huge pressure so he spoke more generally about the big picture and long term project.

Nice to see more football PR from the club with these interviews with Paratici.

This summer with Nuno and new signings just the first part of the project.

Much more to come

"Bayern are already interested" ...and that's why we're not going for him lol

Out of interest what would you have wanted Paratici to say?

I thought the interview was great. You have to also remember that English isn’t his first language so word for word it won’t be coming across 100% how he wants it to anyway but he talked about a long term project he wants to build he talked about mentality and style of play and for fans to support and be positive, all great comments imo.

I agree, my issue is that the project should usually start with a manager who even vaguely resembles the long-term vision. It's all well and good having a long term plan but some short-term progress has to occur at the very least.

Also his only answer to "what is the long term project" was to become a big club in a nice city, and to have the right mentality, so think we're still yet to know his answer to that one.

There weren't many short-term options available by the time the club had finished pissing every available manager off this summer, and I doubt Levy would be overly inclined to pay compensation for a manager already at another club if he only sees the guy as a short-term fix.

As for the long-term project, I think it's obvious that the answer is "win shit, and make a fuck ton of money", but that doesn't sound as palatable as "being a big club in a nice city", and is also a great way to set yourself up for a fall. The guy isn't completely stupid.

I accept that and on reflection it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I don’t however believe that there is any execuse, regardless of what stage of a project you are at, for the level of performance that we saw against Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal. I don’t think we should of been told that there are times when performances will dip. I think those performances were brushed over.

What was most interesting about this interview, was the thing not said.
The name not mentioned…
Nuno.

I don't agree with Nathan Clark (Spurs twitter analytics guy) on most things but I think he had a decent point on the Nuno/Paratici point. He was thinking that Paratici basically asked Mendes to find a guy who would take a short term contract while they look for a better long term option (likely Poch).
Maybe we do want Gallardo for example but maybe he doesn’t come in until the end of our season. On the flip side, most bigger names would want more money so why not just go for Conte. Ether way, as a theory, it’s an interesting one for sure.

written by Daniele Longo (who broke multiple stories for us towards the end of the window[first on sarr, one of the first on both moriba and emerson as well], even got the exact time emerson would be announced)

article summed up: Vlahovic is Juve’s #1 target, but they can’t afford him, so they are willing to sell Kulusevski to fund a move for DV. we’re “above all” in terms of interest for Kulusevski.

Good summary, but here's an English overview for the non-Italian speakers anyway:
