According to the Times, Man U players paid £4k - yes, £4,000 - each for the 100 "models & dancers". And the turkey dinner accounted for £19 of that £4k.

And guess what: "Sir Alex Ferguson, the club’s disciplinarian manager, is said to have given his reluctant blessing to the party, which was organised by the England international Rio Ferdinand."

Rio Ferdinand, who collected the £4,000-a-head whip-round, did not have to remember to turn up this time, as the players chosen at random were Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs.
