Mario Pasalic, 18-year-old midfielder from Hajduk Split.

From numerous sources was all set to join Lazio (as a Hernanes replacement - who was set to join Inter, and still might as negotiations are in progress). Talks broke down tonight and tomorrow morning a delegation is heading to England. Initially it was reported that Chelsea were the club in question, but now there is talk that other clubs may be involved as well. The Daily Mail and a few others have now mentioned Tottenham as one of those clubs.

Don't have the time to go into a long description of him as a player, but he is "young Lampard" type. Good, promising young central midfielder. Has that knack of jumping into the attacking play at the right time and finds himself in good goal scoring opportunities. He's going on the cheap as Hajduk need to sell, but he's a player with a good future. Good head on his shoulders as well. Refused a move to Serie A this summer even though the club urged him to go (again, as they needed the money). Now he's worth even more and has been giving them benefits on the field as well (scored a brace against rivals Dinamo Zagreb to boot).

Just to add quickly, Hajduk normally play a 4-2-3-1 and he often plays as one of the "defensive midfielders." But he's a true central midfielder, can play more advanced as well. Has also played in a 4-3-3.

Surely he'll see he'll have very little chance at Chelsea. They're collecting midfielders for fun then sending them on loan probably never to be seen again.

Croatia had only one good left back long time ago. Not the best place to look for one.
I'd take Darijo Srna, he might be ageing and playing at RB, but he's so fucking good that he could play anywhere in defence.

Im amazed no top clubs have ever gone for him. Immense talent

I think he'd struggle in the prem. Attacking RB who was great and linked with us a few years ago. Good going forward, good set peices.

If he's an Lamapard type of player I doubt Spurs will be interested since Les Ferdi (and Tim) have this opinion about such players...
Les: "I was saying to William Gallas when he was here: The worst thing that happened in this league was Claude Makelele.
"When he came into this country [to Chelsea in 2003] he wasn't a holding midfield player. He was a player who had the intelligence to say: 'Frank [Lampard], you can score more goals than me so, if you go, I'm going to tuck in here for you and I'll hold. You keep going forward.'"

Without a holding DMF there is no way Tim want a free scoring attacking MF in the team who will depend on a holding MF ;)

This is how the chavs will deal with raising funds, buy a ton of young talent offering silly wages for their age, if they make it into the first team squad then great, if not they will still sell on for a healthy profit. *****

...in leau of the UEFA's new economic fair play rules - which is a huge joke anyway.

We'll see in March. City violated it almost two-fold last year, and if UEFA's manner of dealing with it could be one of the most influential decisions in football history.
