I think we could reserect Valeri Bojinov's career. He is a great player and would be a canny buy from ManCity

Bojinov is a good shout actually as he's a really talented player.

Think an option might be to go for someone like Kevin Doyle and invest in a younger striker like Wickham or Lukaku.

Doyle isn't a marquee signing, but he's a good player who can play the exact role we are looking for from a striker.

Huntelaar and Cole a possibility. Depends how many we get rid of too.
Can see Hutton, Jenas, Keane, Pav all going. 2/3 decent players with at least 1 guaranteed starter would be nice.

Is Bojinov over his injury problems now?

I've seen him a few times and he does look a quality player. I'm not sure if we can risk it though as i'm sure we'll only sign 1 striker, so that 1 striker needs to be top class.

Depending on who's available can see us getting 2 strikers if the price is right. Who they may be i have no idea.

I think people are a touch harsh on Huntelaar. In the past season and a half, he's started 13 league games for Madrid under Ramos, with 7 sub appearances, and scored 8 goals, and that's having to fight off competition to the quite fantastic and on form for the past two years Higuain, and the at the time still too big to be dropped Raul. Then he went to Milan, where he had a similar situaition facing him with the loyalty they have to their striking contingent, and only started 11 league games, with 14 sub appearances, and scored 7 league goals.

If chances are created, he'll score goals. He's not that pacey or strong, and his technique isn't the greatest, but in a side with a creative midfield such as ours, he is a man who is always in space and scores with left foot, right foot and head. I think that with our plethora of creative players, we've moved on from needing that number 10/ number 9 hybrid and just need strikers who we know we can rely on to score. Yes, we should hang on to either Keane or Gudjohnsen so that we have that forward who can drop deeper when the situation commands it, but as pointed out before, our poor results last season (forgetting the losses away to the sky 4 where we kept screwing about with formation) we in large down to profligacy and enourmous levels of wastefulness when we in fact created a shit load of chances.

My only problem with Huntelaar is that I think he would be a straight swap for Pav, which seems pretty pointless to me. Afterall, Pav has had 2 seasons now and settled in while Huntelaar will have to start that process from scratch. It would be ok if he was a big improvement on Pav, but i'm not convinved he is an upgrade on Pav at all.

And what makes it credible (that he is a very good player, but they would get rid), is that they appear to be employin a scatter-gun, must fit immediately, approach to team building. If they see someone they think will be better than that injured fella (they forget names they have so many:grin:) money isn't exactly an object, and he has been at (B)Eastlands forhow log now, without having set the Wold on light, so he must be crap and they can get better:bang: But, hey, if we can profit from it:grin:

I think people are a touch harsh on Huntelaar. .

I know, said it dozens of times, they just don't listen.

Bojinov......Really? Please no! He had potential and was said to be one to watch but we can do so much better. Is he an improvement on any of our strikers right now? I don't think so myself.

Dzeko
Luis Fabiano
Benzema
Aguero

These guys would be my top top targets that are a little realistic personally.

I would like to go for somebody like M Gomez, E Derdiyok, Jovetic,
and as Thowig said, i would buy R Lukaku, and Wickham and loan him back to R Keane for a year
