while Rennes forward Martin Terrier, who can play across the front three, is a player of interest having netted 11 goals in 20 matches in Ligue 1 and in the Europa League.

The third-placed French club turned down some big money offers for the attacker last summer and with a long contract until 2026 that is unlikely to change next month.

Ally Gold must've seen that some on here were going a bit crazy, so dropped a load of names to keep us happy and stop some of the madness! ?

Saw him few times while scouting Majer (this one needs to work on his right foot) and Terrier was very impressive, reminded me of Son when he was at Leverkusen. FBref has him compared to Saka and Martinelli. He isn't that young though, he will be 26 in few months time and probably won't improve too much anymore. He's probably entering his prime which is good if he can adapt to this league. Not sure how certain to succeed he is, bit like Bergwijn and Lucas, I think he would be decent but not amazing.

He looks so like Son on the ball. Holds himself in the same way and strikes the ball with the same technique. It’s almost eerie how similar he is.

I wondered if we would hear his name again. As others have said he has a similar style to Son so could be good cover. Depends how much they want for him as Im sure he got priced out of a move in the summer.

Minus the top end speed, but Terrier is great in crowded areas and his touch in the build up is much better than Son’s. The shooting is nearly identical as you said, and he’s an obvious longer term Son replacement because his finishing is so elite.

Not sure about this one, but he does look like he excels at playing with his back to goal. Something that we have our forwards doing a lot of and something that Son doesn't do well at.

He was the most clinical finisher in all of Europe last season. I glanced at his stats earlier this month thinking this link could pop up again, and he’s carried that form into this season as well. Would be good business IMO.

How quick is he? Is he son speed? I do feel we lack a properly pacy dribbling winger

As a backup I think he’d be pretty great off the bench. His game isn’t about pace, he’s more in the Kulusevski mould of making good decisions, having sound technique and having consistent end product, which is exactly what you want off the bench, you want a difference maker that’s going to take the 1 chance they might get to score or create a goal rather than a Lucas that will make the wrong decision more often than not

Don’t know much about Martin.

How does he rate alongside Yorkshire, Staffordshire Bull, and West Highland White?
