Harry Kane is not the only one to have gone from Tottenham reserve to England international this season, with Ryan Mason taken aback by his own rapid ascent.

I think he's a good player and his progress has been great but I also think the England appearance was a little too early for him in terms of showing what he is capable of.

The England cap was too early, you are right. National team managers need to engage their brains a bit more when handing international caps out like confetti.

I can't read the article - because my work quite rightly block the site - but I would like to think he is fully focused on our remaining games as opposed to the time off he has in the summer.

good comments from mason - also see guardian article today.
the england cap was not so much early as it rewarded his trajectory but for the club it did knacker him out a bit. looked a little jaded last few weeks.
As has CE and 1-2 others.
Fortunately Nabil, Nacer, Dier have seemingly got a second wind

I like Ryan and am astounded by the amount of abuse he gets on here, particularly during games. Hopefully he'll continue to improve next season, alongside Bentaleb, thus giving us consistency in the middle of the park for many years to come.

I like Mason. The thing is he's never had a consistent run of games until this year. Even on loan he was always getting injured, playing on one wing one week then up front then on the other wing. I'm hoping Poch can get the best out of him. People may not like the comparison but there's a bit of David Platt in him sometimes.

Mason is a really nice guy, he deserve to be cut a lot of slack he tries bloody hard and cares passionately I think next season he will kick on and prove a lot of people wrong. People have such short memories of how poor and passionless we were before he came in to the team.

Also people need to remember his only 23 what were you doing when you were 23 could you have handled the pressure of playing for England and being a key player for spurs ? I was to be being a dumb arse and getting pissed :)

Why is this spam @avonspurs ?

It is all entirely relevant to the quote and OP.
