Rumours coming out during the Swindon game that Luongo has joined Swindon permanently.

I would be pretty unhappy with these tbh, he seems like a great young talent¬

Can anyone confirm this?

There is something about him joining them for £400,00 in Spurs Idol's youngsters thread in Spurs Chat.

I'd be a bit disappointed too.

But I guess that we just have to trust the judgement of those making these decisions. I guess the question is, is he ever going to be good enough for what we clearly now aspire to be? If the answer is no, then it's in his best interests and ours to let him make a permanent move rather than forever being out on loan.

And if this rumour is true, I guess that we might have some kind of buy back option, as we supposedly also do with Caulker.

Well with squad we have now he is unlikely to get a game for foreseeable future, so guess it's okay if it includes good percentage sell-on clause. Other option is to keep him, loan him next season to higher level and cash in on after that.

Actually while bigger prospect, it's pretty much same with Tom C. Won't get a game now and must be loaned out, however has to develop a lot to replace anyone on current squad on a year. So next summer it's in all likelihood another loan or sale.

But even if we don't think he's going to be good enough for us, he's worth way more than that.

He is worth what other clubs are willing to pay. There won't be any interest from PL clubs and he is risky purchase for any championship side and they ain't throwing millions on such. Getting some 400k or 500k seems decent if there is sell-on clause on top of that.

Keep him, loan him to the championship next season (he's clearly good enough) and he's worth a few million. Unless we have a clause to buy him back next season or the season after for the same price to help Swindon get around the loan rules, this is silly.

Is he the young australian? Disappointed as I wanted an aussie playing for spurs.

If I have the wrong guy, ignore this post.

Will not be at all happy if that's the case. Granted it's going to be incredibly difficult for him to break in with us but I'm convinced that if he were to get a proper shot in the PL he'd prove himself to be already a better player than Livermore - hence we'd at least make some decent money on him.

He is good enough for the chamionship, but most of champioship side aren't throwing fees of few million around. Outside relegated teams only two incoming transfer fees worth over £2m in the whole championship this summer.

Hopefully we got a buyback clause on this? Only saw him play a few times, looked ok, but the coaches obviously know what they're doing.

Im certain we have a buy back clause. This just means we can loan Swindon another youngster

Can somebody please explain the buy back clause? When and under what clause can we buy him back? For example can we get him back for any fee next year if he dominates.

Apologies if this seems stupid question.

To my knowledge, It's a pre-agreed price on which the seller (us) can buy the player back at said cost before any other parties are considered, I could be talking out my arse, though.
