Before the game I said we were playing Burnley at the absolute worst time and so it turned out. They were well up for it, the weather was awful and it was a night game off the back of their first win so the crowd was buzzing. Probably the single worst week to play Burnley all season. If we'd played Burnley 2 months ago when it was originally scheduled, even with our injuries I think we would've turned them over. They were a totally different proposition last night.

Our performance was...average but I don't think too many of our players were actually bad - we just simply struggled to play through an in-form Burnley team who pressed us well in the first half and then we didn't take our chances in the second when we were on top. It was a tough game and I think a draw would've been a fair result, but if you give up set pieces to a team like Burnley they're always capable of scoring.

In large part I thought most of the individual performances were fine without anyone standing out or doing particularly well but by no means a total shambles like the Saints or Chelsea games.

The obvious weaknesses were the full backs - every time Sess or, especially, Royal got the ball I felt like our moves either broke down or lost their attacking threat. Sess was quite susceptible to the press and lost possession a few times, while also giving away some silly fouls (including the one from which Burnley scored). In a Conte system we REALLY need better wing backs and I think we missed Reguilon last night. Going forward, I woudn't be adverse to using Kulusevski at RWB as he's got similar pace and engine to Royal but can actually pick a pass and cross the ball.

I also thought Son didn't have a good game and his decision making let us down a few times.

I don't think last night was a disaster by any means. We gave it a good go but weren't at our best and got Burnley at the worst possible time. It was a coin-toss of a football match and we happened to come out on the wrong side of it, largely in my mind due to our lack of quality at wing back and Burnley scrapping for their lives.
