Okay, there are really only 2/3 vids of him out on youtube. Any la liga watchers know if he's really that good? I mean 18m let alone 29m looks really steep considering I'm sure 90% of us have only heard of the guy this week

Don't mean to be dismissive of the player, just really interested in an depth view.

He could have easily quashed the rumors with a single sentence, just like that one, if the stuff going around wasn't true. I think it's obvious we are in for him, likely in an advanced stage, and it's a matter of trying to finagle things to work out for all parties.

I truly hope so, Snarfie.
I truly hope so, m8.

Don't like the sound of a player who is weak aerially being paired with Vertonghen.

Naturally, I've never seen him play - so I'll trust Poch with this one.

I like the look of Musacchio and think he'll be a terrific partner for Vertonghen. Kaboul would also make a great partner for Vertonghen - particularly if we're up against tall, domineering attackers.

My favoured four for defence is Kaboul, Vertonghen, Musacchio and Chiriches.

Dawson should seriously consider a move to Hull or Sunderland. Wherever he's wanted...

Unfortunately we may need to move Kaboom, especially with the recent Lazio interest. I'm afraid if they bid £6 Mil or more, he is as good as gone.

Too bad. I wouldn't be surprised. But I think it would be a mistake...

watching la liga here in the states isn't so easy.. they tend to only show the top teams. however there seem to be a lot of barca fans wondering why they aren't after him.

I think there's room in the 25 to keep Musacchio, Vertonghen, Kaboul and Chiriches, with Dier and Fryers as backup. Dawson needs to be informed he won't make the 25 man PL squad, so needs to take a move if he wants first team football.

Oh no... You've said it now. Thou shalt not question Moustachio's fee unless in excess of £30m.

Re kaboul: it all depends on his reliability. We need our squad players to be available and if his injury problems are going to be the same as previous years, I'd rather keep Dawson.

Being a regular La Liga watcher, my opinion is that he is an excellent centre back and I am very surprised one of the big boys (esp Barca) haven't snapped him up. I see this as a bit of a coup tbh

I think because Villarreal got relegated and a lot of La Liga watchers haven't really followed them that much the previous season and last season when they came up
I used to enjoy Villarreal when Pellegrini was in charge and watched them a lot but after he left particularly when Garrido took charge and they lost some key players they were not as entertaining.
I do remember Musacchio looking a real prospect though, a bit raw for sure but sharp, seemed to read things pretty well, and seemed a nice balance of being comfortable enough when he had the ball and but not showy and not prone to try and over elaborate under pressure
Certainly not faultless any young player in a new league is going to make a few mistakes, most tend to make a few in a familiar league as they develop, but he looked to have lots of promise.
He seems to have developed, but I haven't watched them these last two years but I liked what I saw then and he has clearly progressed as they rebounded so well from their relegation and finished last season well despite lacking some of the players that made them such a good team before like Rossi and Cazorla
I imagine Poch has been fully aware of his development as have our scouts. There was certainly a very promising player there and if they are still keen I have to assume they have been happy how he's developed

Thanks mte. Sounds like a lot of it is word of mouth, if barca fans are really interested that can only mean he's around that level or has potential to be not to mention our very good coach seems to think he's important, him being a former CB and all.

I'm wondering if the inflated price might be very influenced by each party's interest in getting a decent chunk for themselves. Just a bit skeptical considering we paid 8.5m for Vlad and 12m for vertonghen..

Tom is good spurs wise, but he has told me thru twitter he is on the cricket all summer and out of the transfer loop. Simon Johnson at the standard is full of crap.

In my opinion, the worst one at The Standard (and I mean, the very worst...) is a little scrote called Matthew Norman. He calls himself a Spurs fan yet some of his articles are completely anti Tottenham and his loathing of Daniel Levy is always made very obvious. He's the very worst kind of Spurs fan for me and unfortunately, there are far too many of them.

The worst Spurs fans for me are the ones who comment on the Spurs facebook page posts. You normally get several North Africans just shouting BENTALIB or BANTALEB??? followed by a bunch of people talking about how shit we are and how the season is doomed because the Spurs XI lost to Cambridge.

Wow. Thank God I don't get involved with facebook, twitter or any other form of 'ant-social media' as I call it. Idiotic people like that would seriously piss me off.
