Why wouldn't he be after having make shifts like Dier, and Chiriches even to a lesser extent Naughton filling that position.

Having said that isn't it surprising how, after all the stick he was being given for his performances before his injury, he was so desperately wanted back from injury.

I think the point being made is that defence and attack are two sides of the same coin, a truism I know. Suarez's threat acted as a foil and protected Liverpool's (otherwise) weak defence. Bale I would say likewise though I admit this is rather a glib comparison).

I think you are saying attack is the best form of defence. Bale was not a great left back but was superb when playing further forward. Perhaps the same is true of Walker?

Yep, on both counts! If we have two speed merchants on the pitch we will relieve our defence massively and increase goal opportunities. I would have Lennon and Walker paired up again on one side, with (intelligent/intuitive) switching to the left as and when. Stay wide and stick two forwards up. Cut inside occasionally. Avoid habit. A kind of doubling of threat combined with less pressured defence. And fun to watch too, pulling the supporters into the action with the sheer verve and theatricality of it, the twelfth man we have been missing at home. How easy to manage from the side lines! Players must build relationships, as Lennon and walker have done in the past. I'm reasonably optimistic, but that could be Christmas talking...

Bale had great delivery in to the box, walkers is really poor, bale could finish really well and make good decisions in the final third.

I think Walkers delivery has improved. Was good on Thursday. Not sure about his finishing but he certainly has pace and strength, which were also assets of Bale.

Problem is that since Walker broke into the team. Lennon's performance has waned. I don't actually think they have a good understanding.
