In his post match conference he apparently said he'd like to strengthen in January?
Ofcourse he would want to strengthen in january. He wanted to strengthen in the summer, i'm sure if levy said to him would you like lionel messi he would have said yes.

I would be surprised if he didn't want to strengthen the squad during January but I think it is unlikely to happen especially as the team is picking up and players coming back from injuries, the brain's trust within the club will see that as an opportunity not to spend with the stadium still struggling to get completed.

I think any manager would like to strengthen whenever they can
Problem with Spurs right now is whether we can find the players that can strengthen us
Given how Spurs play , Poch might not only be looking at the quality of the player but also the character and attitude of the player.
Which talented player would want to come to sit on the bench? A big name Moura took half a season to get a start , that might make it not so attractive

We cannot keep using the excuse, or understandable observations about ‘who will come and sit on the bench because of players like Ech (HK)’ etc. That could become our undoing. Thankfully the gaffa knows that.

Yep. I don't buy that view and I cringe at the so called ec pros and pundits that string out that line.

Competition not cover. Its a squad game.

It's nonsense anyway. If that logic were true, players would never join massive clubs with world class players in every position. Top players think they'll get in the team no matter what.

The kind of money that we don't pay helps as well. Batshuayi would be a recent(ish) example of that.

Must be a nightmare for an opposition manager setting up against us. I have absolutely no idea game to game what line up or formation we will play. That’s changed massively from first 2 seasons where it was such a rigid 4231.

That 41212 hasn’t always worked this season but my word it was ridiculously effective yesterday. I think it really suited the personnel. Son, Kane and Alli interchanged so much, it was hard for Chelsea to pin them down- that’s what good chemistry does for you

Doesn't make sense to me when people say a guy like Callum Wilson wouldn't leave Bournemouth to come play for a champions league team...

I am sure he would happily leave Bournemouth for a CL team but not if it meant losing his England place because he hardly ever got to play.

He actually said in his post match yesterday something along the lines of 'we have no formation', maybe he just meant set formation but it shows how confident he is in what he is doing and trying to do. At our best we play based on mentally and principles that transcend tactics.

What he is doing for our club is remarkable, we're in the presence of greatness with him.

The manager has pointed that out on a couple of occasions though, whilst I don't think it's an excuse I do think it's a factor for some players.

Also said something that i think a lot of fifa and fm players need to understand. Formation isn't important positioning is.

Agree. People are obsessed with formations but they're almost completely irrelevant once the game starts. We regularly switch between 2 or 3 formations throughout the game. And as you say it's more about the roles/instructions each player has
