Well, in April, before Poch signed the 5-year extension, Castles wrote that "Mauricio Pochettino is considering leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid at the end of this season" and that RM wanted Poch to replace Zidane. So according to Castles, the timeline is that MP and RM made known their interest in each other in April, and then Poch signed a 5-year extension with no release clause for RM, and then Poch accepted RM's offer only for Levy to nix it. That seems...unlikely.

But in that article, Castles is referred to as an 'expert'.
Thats certainly swung it for me...

Blimey we made so so Much progress in the early Poch days and we've let it go stale by not improving things. Another time in the history of THFC where we didn't realise how good it could have been

Was gutted when Archibald went, then Allen, then Waddle, then Gazza, then Carrick, then Berbatov, then Bale..... Hopefully we will keepPoch and Kane a while longer.

Life ain’t toooooo bad at the mo

Poch's Plan B worked. Great from him to show awareness of what some fans say about him, take it on the chin, and show he does have decent Plan Bs and Cs.

Enjoying the mix up of formations this year.

You're all living in Lala land if you think at any point Levy is going to "back" Pochettino with big transfers.

He will invest in wages for those that have earned them.
He will build a stadium and training complex

But he will never spend tens, or hundreds of millions on players above what we bring in on an annual basis.
It's just not going to happen under his stewardship. You get told it'll change every window by a hopefull ITK, but it doesn't. It's not the Levy/ENIC MO and it never will be.

I doubt Poch is under any illusion now, if he ever was, about what he will and won't get.
It's now just a case of whether he is satisfied with it, whether he thinks he's good enough with young players to make it work, or whether he wants to go somewhere and dominate for decades.

I don't believe anyone disagrees with this in general.

But, the issue is when the stadium comes online whether the footballing part of the business is ringfenced from the stadium part.

For example, we should be looking at revenue of £400 million from the football side of the business once the stadium is used fulltime.
But the stadium side, naming rights, non-matchday income, events etc, could be worth up to £100 million.

If Levy uses the extra stadium income to pay it off, plus flats/hotel, then that's great as we can use the full footballing income to step up.
The issue, for me, is if he was to use the full footballing income as well.

I suspect he will keep it separate which is why he said the build wouldn't effect transfers and Poch is still here.
However, we won't really know until next summer and I wouldn't be particularly surprised to be wrong.

I’m not sure exactly how aware he was... In the post match press conference he referred to the fans booing as ‘I know the fans want 10 strikers on the pitch’ which suggests he thinks they were angry at taking a striker off, when in fact it was purely because he took Lucas off who had been our best forward by a long way until then. If he’d taken any of the other forwards off (except Kane) then I don’t think there would’ve been any boos from the crowd.

But he was also right though when he said it was justified in the end because we won 2-1.

He said he is aware the fans don't think he has a plan B or C, but that when he brought on Trippier and Llorente that WAS a plan B - which was justified because we won.

He was aware the fans were booing when he withdrew Lucas.

Neither have about 15 other teams in the league for the past 30 years, what's your point?
Those other 15 teams have no expectations of winning anything They're just happy to stay in the PL that is their aim that is their chairmans aim. I think our ambitions are higher than that or at least the players are otherwise whats the point in spending800mil on a stadium. I don't think Kane, Eriksen, Lloris, Vert, Aldo etc etc are just happy to be in the PL. So the club and the players have ambitions so my point is. We still have no trophies!!!!

I wasnt happy about poch pulling moura off. I thought others deserved to be subbed instead. However thats why he gets paid the big bucks. To make the big calls. He got this one right or lucky depending on your perspective. For me it was a sign of poch maturing as a manager. Just like players, managers have to learn and gain experience too. Now if only he could speed things up, and makes substitutions nearer to when the match turns.
Oh and care about winning minor trophies like the crockopoo cup. Then i'd be happier.
